Cove really was amazing. I don’t think he was loved enough by his band mates. He took over a band and made it his own which is almost impossible to do but he did it. He made an album that is still so many peoples favorite, he is loved by fans at least.

He didn’t take it over, Saosin is and always has been Beau’s project.

It's because the 'Along the Shadow' album was very DIY in terms of writing. They didn't go to a big producer this time. Beatle album however is more tight more professional record than Along The Shadow.

One of my favourite albums and stands the test of time. One of the few albums where EVERYONE shines in the songs. Their last album is the Anthony Green show (as much as i love him) it could easily be confused with a circa survive album. A ROD is an absolute beast on this album

I always felt bad for cove because trying to fill the shoes of anthony green is a herculean task..but cove put down great vocals on this album- just a shame how much strain singing that high puts on your throat. Which is ultimately what got him kicked out of the band. Justin said after a show one time that he has to warm up before a gig, so when he sees cove ripping butts before a show, it's like- imagine if i warmed up for guitar by punching a wall.

Cove is doing great these days, but back when he 'left' saosin his voice was *done*. studio performance included. besides saosin thrives off their shows, like Kurt with dgd... they are not a 'studio band'... they have a passion for performing and live skill is a must
@Damianator772 жыл бұрын
I personally wouldn't feel comfortable doing something in-studio that I couldn't do live. It would come off as very misleading and deceitful. You wouldn't want a lesser than performance live since tours/gigs is your main source of income, and I'm sure there are people who wouldn't want to support that kind of practice. Chris even states that their biggest challenge was replicating that same in-studio quality live.

I even took my 6505+ lame face plate off and put plexiglass with a couple small blue led lights inside 😂 Hey! It looked cool live and still does to this day. @exsinner2 жыл бұрын
Cove > Anthony Fight me!! Cove sounds more mature which i appreciate more, its getting boring when every single emo band in 2000s sounds the same, like a whiny prepubescent all the time.
@JamesEatWorld77582 жыл бұрын
The entire vision of Saosin was for a metal sound with Bjork style vocals. They were also some of the first to actually do that style. Learn some history
@soysaucehairdye78692 жыл бұрын
@@JamesEatWorld7758 That's pretty interesting and makes sense getting a High Tenor like Anthony Green to fill the shoes of someone like Bjork or Elizabeth Fraser but with a man's high voice. Cove has a cool voice, but he is definitely more of a mid-tenor than a High tenor. His voice is more similar to Tyson Stevens and Brandon Bolmer than Anthony Green.
@mightybox65895 жыл бұрын
He gotta calm down with the overly pushed "emo tom delonge" accent and just sing normally. The unnecessary "aaaahh-eeeh" accented on words that don't even have those sounds. It's like a emo James hetfield , he said "ahh" after nearly every word
@SlavestoArmok4 жыл бұрын
Cove is a really good singer now, but back when he did this first saosin album he was pretty young and his voice was all over the place, he ended up getting kicked out of the band unfortunately after their 2th album because his voice was degrading and apparently he smoked alot which fucked his voice up. It also doesn't help the bands previous singer Anthony Green is one of the best singers in the post hardcore game, So cove was really fucked from the get go, thats what happens when you have open auditions for ANY singer to try and join your band (thats how he joined)... it rarely works out unless you KNOW that singer is amazing. Mind you Cove now sounds really good in the new band hes in, hes a great screamer aswell!
@MikenMc4 жыл бұрын
This album should’ve had Anthony Green on vox. Cove was good but I personally didn’t care for his vocal style
@Damianator772 жыл бұрын
I prefer Anthony as well, but I feel Cove did very well, considering the shoes he had to fill.
