We are ready for our first ride, I share with you 4 essential things you should check and show you what to check for, before you consider getting on your horse for the first time. Some people just get on and buck it out, that fine, but if you want to keep yourself and your horse safe, and actually teach them something that they will fondly remember, then do these 4 checks first. If your can't handle the checks/tests, this is an invitation to look through my videos, and find all the related exercises and concepts that will help you in many ways.
Enjoy the process, and please, stay safe. It's not worth the risk. Don't be a hero. Do your homework.

Ive watched the whole training process with Sapphire and honestly from the fear filled terrified horse I first saw to this amazingly calm and willing girl she is (already under saddle) is simply phenomenal! Well done kind Sir! Ive been around horses all my life and have watched many different trainers and methods and you are in my favourite top 3! I wish there were alot more trainers like you and there are many out there who could do to watch/listen to you and take on your superb way of training. Once again I thank and applaud you 🙏🐴💖

my absolute go to is Steve Young recently worked with a kill pen rodeo horse and within hours had him calm as a schoolmaster. Incredible.

Great video! You're right; Arabs have incredible stamina and are also exceptionally smart. Some trainers seen on KZbin have mentioned that Arabians are difficult and unpredictable to train, but it is more about winning the horse's trust first. A first-rate job with Sapphire.

Seeing the training helps me better understand what goes into the signals that I give when riding, and to be aware of my state of mind and the amount of touch needed. Thank you!

Brilliant! Yes absolutely. And the first few rides are pretty important in establishing the amount of pressure required from the ques. I feel like too many people use too much effort when its not really required.,

I am new to your channel and am so entranced by your videos, training methods, and patience. I thank you for sharing and hope you continue to do so. I have ridden, briefly, in the past and also cared for a horse that my daughter rode and leased. I love horses and even though I am no longer involved with horses, it gives me much joy to watch your work and to understand a bit about horse psychology. Thank you!

You don't practice mounting from both sides first? Getting up first time is never a problem, but getting down calmly and safely is an other story :) Well done.

excellent work Clinton would be proud of you. The real test is going to be to ride with other horses outside and see if she has lovesickness. One time I watched Pat Parelli stand perfectly still in the middle of the round corral and only move when the horse stopped. Where are you by the way?
@elitehorsemanship8765
@elitehorsemanship8765 2 ай бұрын
Thanks John! I am in Abu Dhabi/Dubai, United Arab emirates. re the Parelli comment, I love seeing how a simple concept can be applied in many different ways. That's the personal style that is demonstrated. However when learning, I would stick to doing exactly whatever the person you are learning from does. Once you have achieved a certain level of mastery, feels free to adapt Ito your own style and preferences, and to get more effective results from your horse. This is not really directed at you, as you probably fully understand this, but for others that may benefit from this reponse.

Personally I think this wonderful man is a FAR better trainer than Clinton. I'm an Aussie and I've seen him treat some horses dreadfully.. plus his ego is still way too big in terms of his showmanship. I would much rather watch good quality horsemanship.. like this wonderful kind gentleman does! He's all for the horse which is just beautiful ❤
