Sapphire RX 5700 XT Pulse on Amazon: geni.us/5hPDaXk
Article: www.gamersnexu...
The Sapphire RX 5700 XT Pulse is a major improvement over the RX 5700 XT reference design, making 40dBA use under heavy load actually feasible (and at better thermals even than the reference card when left unconstrained/auto controlled). The benchmark almost entirely looks at thermals and noise, as gaming performance is largely unaffected. Pricing is also close to MSRP for reference, making a card like this an easy choice over the original model. The only issues left are driver-side, and some of those have been resolved, although overclocking is still a massive pain when compared to working with NVIDIA cards or older AMD cards. In this review, we'll look at if the Sapphire RX 5700 XT Pulse is worth it, particularly versus the reference 5700 XT. Some mentions of the RTX 2070 Super and RTX 2060 Super are also made, although we do focus mostly on the XT vs. XT comparison.

All the issues you complained about the AMD Driver / Wattman suite have been going on for 3 years, and AMD continuously denies these issues. They continuously push RMA-ing your card instead as a solution, but it never fixes the problem.

You didn't need a full restart to fix the glitchy colors after driver install. If you right click the desktop and go to "display settings", the colors fixes itself immediately after without needing to click anything within the display settings. Just opening the display settings fixes it.

@v KEITH v Well keep in mind that AMD can't really screw over their board partners like Nvidia can. I just want to say that I originally bought the MSI Mech 5700xt and the thermals especially on vram and junction temps were absolutely horrible! Even with a 90% fan curve (which sounded like a jet engine) I was getting vram temps around 88 degrees. I switched to the sapphire after watching this review and I am amazed by how much better this card is. Vram temps rarely go above 76 degrees on STOCK fan settings and with a custom fan curve they are rarely going above 68 degrees. I am so happy I switched to this card and thanks for the amazing review!

I work for a custom PC shop, that happens with Nvidia and with AMD - and its exactly like he says - it only occurs after the drivers have been installed but before the PC is restarted. The first time it happened I had a GTX 1070 and Im like did my card go bad? But no a restart fixed it and all is well. I have had this issue occur every single time whether its an APU or GPU - and the vendor doesnt matter. This tells me its not an AMD specific problem, and its likely not an Nvidia problem but rather a windows problem. Amd hasnt fixed anything - there was no problem on their end to solve. It happens 100% of the time for me now whether the card is a 1060, 2060, 580, Vega or Radeon 7.

I agree I get that AMD cards are supposed to be cheaper (debatably), but when you have driver issues that shouldn't exist to begin with that kills it for me. You'll never know when they'll be fixed if they'll be fixed in a reasonable time. On top of that, Nvidia debatably has better encoding, which is more beneficial to streamers and content creators. I would not put a 5700xt in my build, unless the drivers are fixed.

On all my Radeon cards (and I love 4x Crossfire), I’ve never experienced anything as bad as my Titan Xp collectors edition... the Titan would crash most of my games every 30 minutes, and I gave up gaming for a while until after a month I said “F this”, put it on a shelf, plugged back in my old Crossfire cards and everything “just worked”, unfortunately, I had kept the card a little longer than 30 days thinking it was user error (I always assume it’s the monkey at the keyboard), and so Nvidia said it was too late for a refund past 30 days. After lots of drivers and different operating systems it kept screwing up (if even F’d up a fresh Linux OS when installing the Titan drivers! Like damn I knew Nvidia had $hit drivers on Linux, but screwing up a server operating system with a graphics driver? WTH, that’s a massive achievement for poor coding, I don’t even think I could do that if I tried!). So I tried installed Windows 10 a couple of times fresh and nothing worked (I tried every Nvidia driver I could find, from compute/workload optimized to gaming drivers, everything would just crash after a while). The weird thing is it could benchmark just fine, I even cranked it past 13.5 GHz on the memory and it technically passed the 3dMark benchmarks (it even games fine and stable now above 13 GHz memory 6 months later after some magic driver fix) It works fine like 6 months later, but WTH would I use such a crap card for? My much cheaper 4x R9 Fury does 100 fps in Crysis 3 at 4k Ultra where that weak $1200 card only made 45 fps, I wouldn’t be pissed if it hadn’t stolen a hundred hours of my time. I’d rather be frying cards on LN2 than having issues with a stock Titan that Id never overclocked and sounded like a jet taking off (I joked that it would be great for a flight simulator, blast your face with hot engine exhaust and let your hair fly around, haha, that would actually make it worth it!) I now just have it sitting on a shelf to look pretty, as it at least does that (wow! As a Star Wars fan it does look sexy... I’d rather build real laser blasters for $1200 though, as that’s my next project. Will trade Titan for laser optics and 10w diode banks?)

idk much but i know a little and im constantly pushing myself to learn more and when i first got my card(5700xt blower model) i almost returned it. it was terrible and for most people that arent constantly reading and watching tech stuff i kinda feel sorry for if they bought one of these. i can recall at least o ne guy on reddit that switched to amd with a ryzen 5 3600x an x570 motherboard and navi rx 5700xt and returned everything within one week of purchase due to all the combined issues with wait for it now amd's drivers. dude was having alot of similar issues as i was having and he was even probably more experienced then i am and yet he after days of trouble shooting he said screw it an returned everything. now hes back on his intel/nvidia system that actually works with no issues what so ever. i honestly feel like i paid 400 dollars to be a damn beta tester for amd and i really dont appreciate it. here it is a month a after i bought my card and im still having little issues here and there and its super fkin annoying.

Would just like to add to this review: Steve obviously reviewed the 11293-01-20G Pulse here, but Sapphire has out on store shelves now the 11293-09-20G "XT BE" version. Primary difference being the BE model doesn't have what Sapphire marketing materials called "Pivotal SAPPHIRE features" such as the fan quick connect and more importantly lacks a key feature Steve mentions, the Dual BIOS. So be careful when shopping, if that Dual BIOS is an important feature to you! FWIW, Sapphire seems to be doing this across the entire product stack as there is also 5700 and 5700 BE, 5600 XT and 5600 XT BE, etc.

a lot of side comparisons on the chart, which is great; but having some higher tier older cards (yes, I see the 1080ti) for which people would be upgrading from would be nice as well instead of 11 examples of RTX cards; taking one out for say a 980Ti could be beneficial; as people with maxwell cards would better identify where they are on that stack than a 1080ti ftw3. Really doesn't matter I suppose; but some people might want to know how much of an upgrade for the money they would be getting if they chose to purchase a new card; I guess they could just go to gpuboss ;p /poke
