This was such a super helpful video, thank you! Could I just ask which college you are from? And do lots of people who go for the older colleges get allocated a different one?

thank you so much! I studied at St Mary's College (one of the older colleges) and it was the college that I picked. I think that people are most likely to be reallocated to a different college if they pick a really small one (e.g. St Chad's or St John's) or the oldest college (Castle College). Other than that I think that you have a good likelihood at getting your chosen college!

Hey🙋 I wanted to study archaeology (postgraduate) and out of Oxford Cambridge and Durham which one is the best for it? Hello amazing video, thank you! I was just wondering if it is still possible to change the colleges after already being allocated? Me and my friend both play football and we’ve been going to same school and playing for same team for whole life and we are allocated in different colleges so we are very sad. Do you know any ways to fix it? If not, even we will be in different colleges, will we still be able to join the same football teams, freshers parties, balls etc? Additionally, i am allocated for st hilds & bede, and i saw some pictures on-line, but the campus looks very small and the rooms are very old and tiny. Its making me very worried but am i stressing for no reason or how is it in real life? Are the rooms usually very small and old? Sorry for the long message and thanks for the video again

hi Peter, thank you so much! Typically students aren't allowed to change their college (this is the site with the uni's details: www.dur.ac.uk/colleges.se.office/allocations/transferrequests/) but you and your friend can still play on football teams together! There are intercollegiate football teams (with different levels) so no matter your college, you can try out. Also, I knew lots of people with friends at another specific college, and they practically joined all of their societies! It's not routine, but exceptions can be made if you get along with a team at a different college and they allow you on their team. I attended societies at other colleges for fun, and they were all chill and informal about it. Additionally, freshers parties/balls are often intercollegiate so you can definitely attend these together. If you wanted to attend for instance his formal halls, or if he wanted to come to your college's fashion show, you can buy each other tickets (e.g. as a +1), and sometimes tickets are released to other colleges after your college has had first pickings. Regarding Hild Bede, I attended lots of lectures there and it's a gorgeous building! Colleges on the Bailey are smaller (e.g. St John's). I haven't visited Hild Bede's dorm rooms, but it is normal at Durham for college rooms to seem old or smallish due to the fact that they are in an old building (e.g. Castle first year accomodation). two of the most poignant differences are their sizes / student capacity, and their locations. Other than that there are lots of minute nuances

Hello, Superb video I had query I have got offer letter from 3 colleges for may intake ALGONQUIN college Ottawa campus CONESTOGA college kitchener campus Durham college Oshawa campus I am confused which one would be the best suitable option for me in terms of education, getting good part time job while studying in that particular area. College which has good placement cell which would help me in getting job in my field that is finance or banking sector which would also further help me in getting PR. Where Cost of living and travelling will also be minimal in those cities. Which would be best college for me please suggest. Or should I apply to more colleges in Toronto region where all banks head quarters are situated. Thanks in advance.
