It's north Indian classical music aka Hindustani music. The style of singing is called Khayal singing. Many vocalists and instrumentalists perform very long performances(30-50 minutes). They perform under some discipline of notes, called as Raag. If you enter into instrumental music, go for Indian classical Violin by Dr. N. Rajam.
