It’s not that it’s a dumb play call, it’s that that could have been 4 down territory. They run on 3rd down, that clock is 1 minute and running the next snap. So no matter what they do on 4th down , the falcons naturally have less time to drive the field. With that said, the play call was beautifully drawn up, just a bad time for saquon to have a lapse in hands

And playing Andy Dalton is not a win now move, it's to simply fairly evaluate the rest of the offense for a first-year coach and GM.

@jeffsharp2981Ай бұрын
Both arguments are valid…Connor is correct in saying if we run the ball and milk 40 seconds off….there is 35 seconds left…. But he could have fumbled, always a possibility, and from the fellas point of view, Barkley has to catch that ball…. Although that is the 17th pass he has dropped since 2021? Maybe more risk involved in that play than there should be….Siriani not to blame as much I hate to say it….prolly need to blame the GM… no Reddick??
@MaxDolentesBMCАй бұрын
I dont think Connor is wrong for wanting to run it there at all. The possibility of problem increases once the ball is in the air on that play. You cant debate a throw and catch has more possibility of problems than a run, that definitely keeps the clock running. The final drive is different with the Falcons starting inside their own 15 with 40 seconds left, with the Eagles then guarding the sidelines.
@GorejusBandАй бұрын
Can't believe Mark and Brandon are so adamant about throwing the ball being the right call.

@TropicThunder6996Ай бұрын
@@GorejusBandit's the right call because the play worked and got the receiver open but he dropped the pass. You guys are assuming the run would get a first down.
@GorejusBandАй бұрын
@@TropicThunder6996 it quite literally didn't work. Dropping a pass is a possibility when u call a pass play. I'm not assuming it would get a 1st down. Running the ball is the only right decision because it runs off 40 secs even if you don't get the 1st down. Then you can either go for it to end the game or kick a field goal and give Atlanta the ball back with under a minute and no timeouts as opposed to 1:40.
@TropicThunder6996Ай бұрын
@GorejusBand by that logic than a run play could have resulted in a fumble. We are using hypotheticals for a play that wasn't called when the play that was called would have been successful if the player makes the catch.
@isaacviereck5257Ай бұрын
I’m with Connor. You ran the ball two times to make it 3rd and3. Odds are Barkley would’ve got the first down and even if not you give the falcons the ball back with like 45 seconds instead of 1:45

Brandon and Mark are idiots. The play was fine, sure. But you run the ball and AT WORST you give the falcons 40 less seconds to score a touchdown (they scored with 34 seconds). If you get 2 yards there it’s a guaranteed first down with a tush push. It was the third time that game they threw on third down and it failed in clear running situations. Should saquon have caught it? Yes. Was it a good play call? Yes. Was that the best decision to seal the game given what we were doing successfully all game? Absolutely not
