He’s just massaging stats to try to make his point...(even though he’s dead wrong,by a mile) If you’re saying that he’s the best weapon, I’ll agree, but not the best rb!(admission that not many people hear because of the ridiculous statements before that he made)
@Icouldntpickone

“In that case let’s see. If you take away all of Mahomes longest passes of all 16 games, stats show he was pedestrian. He didn’t show the accuracy of a Tom Brady in short passes. Tom Brady is still the best qb in football right now!” Something Skip would probably say.

IDK, you could make that a great argument why Jerry Rice is better than Randy Moss. Moss has that deep threat, but Jerry gives you everything. Moss can change a game in an instant. But play by play, Jerry is consistent, and does almost nothing wrong. And, you could make that argument for Zeke. Every drive, he will give you something. How much do you value that one big play vs the output of the whole game?
@underratedszn6549
@underratedszn6549 5 жыл бұрын
Tyson Tronowicz that doesn’t make sense to take away big plays it’s part of the game I would take the explosive play or the methodical march down the field as long as we score it doesn’t matter to me but Barkley has to work harder to be a good running back with what he has and still dominate makes him better to me
@tysontronowicz3731
@tysontronowicz3731 5 жыл бұрын
@@underratedszn6549 Well, the argument is what matters more, one big play and a score, or consistent first downs. That is what the respective players bring.(assuming Zeke doesn't make big plays like that hurdle). The big play is 7 points. Consistent first downs is not only lots of points, but more time of possession.
@tigera6
@tigera6 5 жыл бұрын
@@tysontronowicz3731 The thing is Saquon is capable of doing that "consistent first down" as well, if he could have a good OLine like Dallas. The Oline of Giants consistently get beaten off the scrimage line, making Saquon job much harder to move the ball consistently. It would be interesting to see if there is a stats like how much the RB advance the ball since his first "touch" by the opponent DLinemen.
@tysontronowicz3731
@tysontronowicz3731 5 жыл бұрын
@@tigera6 I mean, lots of players are capable of doing that. I 'could' argue that lots of players are capable of making the explosive plays that Barkley makes. However, Barkley actually does make those plays, not hypothetically. Zeke, who is quite the athlete himself, could make long plays, but as Skips says, he runs into contact and grinds down the defense. It would be silly to say anybody could do what Barkley does. I also think it is silly to say that Barkley could do what Zeke does "if only he had a better line". Barkley could be worse or better than Zeke, but you can only judge of their output. "QB X is the best in the league, because imagine they were playing in the KC offense, so many weapons, any QB is easy MVP". I watched a team go 16-0 in 2007, and lose the Superbowl to the 6th Seed. It ain't about what you could/should do, its about what you do.

It’s simple. Zeke is the most proven and consistent back. Le’Veon missed a season so he can’t be considered the best at this moment. Saquon is the most talented but needs another year to prove himself. If he has another season like last season, he’s the best back in the league no 🧢

Saquon is more similar to Adrian Peterson than either of them. elusive despite being big for an RB, too strong to tackle alone and too fast to run down. for each of them(prime AD specifically), if you can catch them, you aren’t strong enough to bring them down...if you’re strong enough to bring them down, you aren’t fast enough to catch them.

@kinginanorth
@kinginanorth 5 жыл бұрын
Andre Neale - no one compared to Barry, definitely not Shady. The similarities in Saquon are in the tree trunks they possessed along with his ability to accelerate from zero to sixty in the blink of an eye. His acceleration isn’t as explosive as Barry but it’s the closest thing we have since. He’s big but doesn’t have much similarities to AP as he was more of a seek and destroy runner. Saquon is big but relies on agility, strength, lateral quickness and speed. AP was looking for dudes to take their manhood on the field. He was a beast in every way and had some of the most explosive seasons we’ve ever witnessed and suffered injuries because of his style of running. Saquon needs to continue to replicate the can’t hit me style of Barry so he can stay upright and chase records.
@AnonymousRandomGuy006
@AnonymousRandomGuy006 5 жыл бұрын
KINGinaNORTH I see what you are saying. I thought they were talking about running style not skill set. McCoy and Sanders are one of the most elusive backs I’ve ever seen. They would shake entire defenses on one play effortlessly.

Yeah AP was my natural comparison too, similar style. He's a little shiftier than AP but not as violent/hard to bring down.
@kinginanorth
@kinginanorth 5 жыл бұрын
@@AnonymousRandomGuy006 Yeah that boy Shady was nasty, his quickness was undervalued. Barry's running style was almost non-human, no one should be able to run with such acceleration be able to stop change direction and on his second or third step be back to full speed, it's just not natural.

A lot of people don't realize this, but the Cowboys offensive line WAS NOT that great last year. No Travis Frederick. Zach Martin and Tyron Smith were injured all year long. The backups are just average offensive lineman. Zeke still led the NFL in rushing and yards/game.

He only had 127 more rushing yards than Saquon on 40 more carries. Give Saquon 15 more carries on the season, he has more rushing yards than Zeke.

@@DTS_I Zeke led the league in 2018 in rushing while only playing 15 games. Zeke has led the league in rushing twice while only playing 15 games. He would have beaten Barkley by well over 200 yards if he had played the last game against New York. Barkley played 16 games and had less rushing yards than Zeke who only played in 15 games.

@@DTS_I what you just admitted is that Ezekiall Eliott is the most productive tailback in the NFL. We have no clue if Saquon Barkley can even carry that level of production. Being able to have that many carries and that many yards is something very few players can do without getting injured.
@DTS_I

Damian Outlaw if you give Saquon 300+ carries a season he probably averages 1500 rushing yards a season. He absolutely can handle that workload. He’s an every down back. In fact if you give him 300 carries last season he has about 250 more yards than Zeke.

Skip isn’t wrong completely. Saquan does avoid contact. He hasn’t established the run yet. Zeek is a back that will punish you and force 4-6 yards a carry. You can’t hand the ball to saquan on third and 4 and say go get it like you can with zeke.
@DTS_I

If you get 100 rushing yards in a game you obviously established the run lol. But ED shut down Skips argument on now he “avoids contact” bc he’s a smart runner. If he can make you miss, he’ll make you miss. Saquon will probably have a longer career than Zeke.

For the past 3/4 yrs RBs like Saquon have been here and gone from the top 3 of RBs. David Johnson was a Saquon type and people were ranting how he was better than Zeke. Then Bell, he decided to leave his team and well then he was out the top. Now we got Saquon and he has been the greatest in comparison to David and Bell but Zeke is gonna prove it again that he is the best in the league by finishing as the leading rusher and continuously increasing the volume of production in the passing game as well( 2019 70 catches). Both Zeke and Saquon are a little different but at the end of the day u can’t tackle both of them; Saquon dances around and Zeke runs through. And with that said Zeke establishes the run and his will on the defense and cn take his team to the playoffs when Saquon couldn’t. Zeke > Saquon

Zeke has been better since college and to anyone claiming he doesn't have any moves to make people miss. Then, show us a game when he just runs north and goes nowhere. Barkley also played with OBJ and a SB winning QB. Who did Zeke played with like that? Oh, the OL. Right. Same argument people had with these 2 RBs in college. Lol. Lastly, maybe Zeke had more rushing attempts because he made the playoffs! And didn't Zeke have like 75+ catches? You all can take Kevin Garnett. Give me Tim Duncan all day.
