Very nice presentation on the K2 SAR. I too have a K2 SAR and just took it out to shoot. A Fantastic gun! I got some after market grips from a gentleman from Turkey - cost was $68. He accepted Paypal. They are very well made wood and are tight and snug fitting. This is my favorite gun to shoot and the weight prevents a lot of the recoil that the lighter guns have. I recommend this gun if you want an inexpensive, high capacity 45ACP that looks very cool. Mike M

My boss brought in 4 P14 magazines to try in my SAR K2, all 4 would lock in the gun but not hold the slide open. However all 4 were very, very tight on the sides of the frame to magazine. It was so tight that "drop free" would be a far fetched dream. I bought 5 additional magazines for mine and they are all the same quality MecGar mags and I have no complaints aside from the lack of an aftermarket or factory threaded barrel

Yeah, I wondered how those p14 magazines worked. I have three magazines total. That's the minimum I try to keep for any semi-auto, but I would like to have more. Where'd you get yours, got a line on some pretty cheap?

Excellent review. Just received mine about a month ago for $480 and I love it. Very ergonomic, accurate, and the recoil seems very light considering it's a 45. Fit and finish are great. Probably use it for home defense, but may take it to the mountains/woods as well. Very handsome looking firearm. Even the wife commented that it's "pretty"... (barf)

I was interested to know how the resin grips compare with the original with regards to tactile, grip retention in hot weather with sweaty palms, and over-all strength. I hope you have had an opportunity to try them out. The Amazon advertised grips in wood from Turkey are an expensive option for a cost effective 45.
@darink300zx8 жыл бұрын
In my opinion the ones from Tillander are a bit better than the factory grips. The factory grips have been known to crack due to being such thin plastic, but the tillander ones are a bit less brittle and I've not had any problems with them. As for the grip retention and whatnot, they feel pretty much the same as the factory grips. I do agree on the price of the wood ones. I have them too and like them for the look but the Tillander ones are a definite good to go buy in my opinion.

To all of you folks that have a problem with the SAR K2 shooting to the left. If you look really close at the rear sight in it's dovetail, you should see that it is slightly to the left in the dovetail. Use a drift punch on the sight base and lightly tap it to the right. It doesn't need to move very much at all to center it in the frame. Now take it out and zero it. I think it will solve your problem, it sure did mine.
@darink300zx10 жыл бұрын
I should try that. I wonder why most of the turk guns I've gotten appear to be like that, shooting to the left from the factory? I always assumed it was my poor trigger control or grip, but maybe there is something to that? Anyway, thanks for the comment and watching.
@hrx32449 жыл бұрын
William Robinsonn You sure are right. I want to get my rear sight centered on the slide too. Did you have to remove or loosen anything before punching? Is the small allen wrench came with the gun to be used on the rear sight? Thanks:)
@williamrobinson80253 жыл бұрын
I still have it. Bought a twin to keep it company. Just as reliable as the original and rear sight had to be moved to the right in its dovetail also.
@williamrobinson80253 жыл бұрын
@@hrx3244 The small Allen wrench is of no use on this problem. What has to move is the sight blades dovetail carrier. Use a brass or aluminum drift punch, not steel, and gently tap to the right so that the sight blade carrier is more centered in the slide. Do not tap on the sight blade itself!! Do not use a center punch!! Then zero your rear sight as normal using the correct tool at a range.

I've been looking at 1911's and I've pretty much decided on 2 manufacturers guns in .45. I was originally most impressed by the Range Officer by Springfield Amory. Then I saw this nice pistol and I'm pretty interested in getting a better look at it one day. It's about half the price of the top 5 1911's under $1,000 and itseems to do just as well in most tests. I also like the 14+1 magazine thing. As you said in the video, it seems as though Sarsilmaz is starting to make themselves known in the United States with quality firearms. FYI: Sarsilmaz is stupposed to be the largest manufacturer of guns in Europe.
@darink300zx6 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I've gotten a couple SAR pistols now and no problems with them, as well as other Turkish made pistols. I'm not as into 1911s as I am CZ75 inspired pistols like this one, but I can say that this gun is a bit larger, especially in the grip, than my Colt series 70. The SA trigger pull on my series 70 Colt is a bit nicer than the SA trigger on this gun, but reliability and accuracy are definitely on par with it though.

I to have gotten into the Turkish guns, I have the Sar K2 45 and the Weatherby PA 459 shotgun, also made in Turkey. If you have a problem as I did with the K2 failing to feed then I have the answer. The machining on this gun is some of the best there is except in the Chamber. Mine was rough causing it to jam. A visit to my gunsmith for him to polish it, since I don't have the tools to get in there, and it was good to go. No problems since, great gun.

Thanks for the information, I've heard of others having this issue, but mine has run flawless since day one, maybe it was a certain batch of barrels that had this poor chamber finish.

Great review and breakdown instructions. A friend and I both ordered one from the site - CDNN Sports for $369.00. Other than a couple of minor problems we love them. One of his grips cracked and a screw backed out of my grip. I contacted EEA for a replacement screw and they sent a replacement set of gripes (which solved both of or problems). It took a few weeks but we got them. Out of the box the rear sights were way off but we got ours sighted in. We both experienced faille-to-feed problems for the second round when we fully loaded the magazine. All things considered this is a great gun for the money.

Thanks for the comments. You got a good deal for 369. I paid more around 420 or so and I thought that was a great deal. @darink300zx6 жыл бұрын
Well, it all depends on what you want and what you wanna pay. The Jericho will generally be more expensive but the SAR holds more rounds. From a dependability standpoint, my SAR has been great, and unlike other reviews I've seen, mine has functioned pretty much flawless since day one. The Jericho, although just about as much of a niche brand as the SAR, will probably carry it's value over time more. Some people are put off by weapons made in Turkey, so there's that. If it were me and it was the only 45 I was gonna get, I'd go with the SAR, although, the best thing you could do is, just get both!!

As a matter of fact yes I did have that issue, luckily with the adjustable sight it was easy enough to fix. I've had several of the Turkish made handguns I've gotten that shoot a little left. I love this gun, it shoots great, no problems at all so far. Congrats on your purchase, thanks for watching and commenting.
@billyfreeman58034 жыл бұрын
I think hitting low left is from your grip and trigger pull. If you can't break the trigger without having the front sight stay completely still, you need to adjust your grip and trigger control. I found I had to use the pad of my finger closer to the tip rather than closer to the joint which is opposite of what I have to do with guns like Glocks.

darink300zx Hey, darink. Nothing obvious in terms of burs on the feed ramp. I did polish the ramp with some Flitz and a dremel polishing bit. Cycled 5 snap caps through it without a problem. Haven't had a chance to take it to the range yet but will do that and if there is still a problem will send it back to EAA to have them take a look.

Great video. Very informative. I have one of these pistols, and at first I skeptical, because I really did not know much about the firearm. Did more research on this pistol and grew more comfortable. When I began using this in the field, hunting, etc. I really fell in love with the pistol. Yes it is heavy, but the recoil for me is great, because I do not have large hands. Shooting at game and at targets have proved to be very effective use good ammo or good reloads. I DID NOT HAVE A GOOD EXPERIENCE USING STEEL CASING AMMO. THE STEEL CASED AMMO DID NOT FEED PROPERLY AND THERE WAS SOME DIFFICULTY. I STRICTLY USE BRASS CASED AMMO AND HAVE NOT EXPERIENCE ANY JAMS AT ALL, FEEDS VERY WELL. SO I RECOMMEND THAT YOU USE GOOD BRASS CASED AMMO. Thanks for the informative video.

@darink300zx11 жыл бұрын
Yes I have, I actually own two match model witnesses, one in 9mm and one in 45. It's funny you should bring this up because I am planning on doing a comparison video of this gun and the match in 45. This gun compares very closely in weight and size of course, but the match definitely has a nicer trigger. The fit on the match is slightly better too, imo, but this gun is very close. If you look on buds gun shop dot com right now the two tone k2-45 is going for 468, lowest I've ever seen it. The all black like the one here is 480 or so the last time I looked. For the mag capacity and lower price point, at least for the moment, I'd go with the k2-45 over the match, because even though I think the match, for me at least, is more accurate and has a better trigger, the price difference is too good to pass on the k2-45.

I don’t disagree with you on the need for the decocker and the fact that so many modern guns exist with them, etc. I get that, but I still prefer the trigger feel of this gun and variants of the cz75 design that lack a decocker.

@@darink300zx different strokes for different folks....seems to me that the de-cocker on the CZ was an evolution design....and it is my understanding that the decocker function does not effect the trigger feel at all.....

Adrian Otero true, different strokes for sure.

Your doing a review before you have shoot the gun?
@darink300zx10 жыл бұрын
Did u watch the video to the end? At about the 11:15 mark I discuss my initial shooting impressions. But yeah, most of the video was done prior to me shooting it, it wasn't so much a review as it was an initial impression of the gun. Thanks for watching.

Is it too big for carry?
@darink300zx3 жыл бұрын
Well, that depends on the person carrying it, it’s a duty size weapon. For me it’s too big and heavy for any type of concealed carry, but I know guys that CC 1911 pistols so I’m sure it can be done. I prefer smaller and lighter for concealed carry, but it’d be fine for open carry in an owb holster.

can the k2 magazine fit in the cz 97?
@darink300zx9 жыл бұрын
+makukidd12, I don't own a CZ97, but I do not believe they are interchangeable. The Para Ordnance P14 work in the SAR K2-45 though.

Why not conceal carry this? I carry a full size glock, no problems, just tie that waist line chord tight when your rocking board shorts / basketball shorts. no worries, as long as your not running? lol Side note, if you do run, just hold it in place like pretty much anyone running with a duty size pistol does.

lol, more power to ya if you can conceal carry this beast. It's 2.5 pounds, unloaded, load up 14 rounds of 45 acp, wow, that'd be heavy. I know people do conceal carry full size pistols but I prefer smaller/lighter for that. I don't know though, I've been considering getting a shockwave mossberg for CC, but I'm pretty tall, lol.
