@JEF2293 No max age, but you have to be in the Canadian Forces in another trade for four years before transfering to SAR.

@Bighoff123 if you dont jump, if you dont rock climb comfortibly and freeze on the vertical climb then you dont pass.. heights is not a huge deal i mean your first time at that level your fliping out but over time just be carefull and watch your moves, you become verry comfortible with it.

@deltaecho1 It's like swinging your arm when you walk. It helps with coordination.

The training in the fake helicopter in the pool looks so intense! Do you guys do a lot of free fall jumps or mostly static line?

@JEF2293 30 ... you could apply for a age waiver and enlist into Air Force Pararescue.

Great video of the unsung heroes of Canada. I see that KZbin disabled your original audio. Here's a little tip to everyone watching this video, pause this video, mute this video, open another youtube tab, type in AWOLNATION- Sail and listen to this while watching this video. Perfect fit.

Women can indeed become SAR Techs. There are two in the trade (out of 130.) None on my course.

God I wish I was there, in training with you guys :( But I'm 36 and I fucked up and let life pass me by, fuck. >:/ I'm in great physical shape (I train and condition for MMA), I have the desire (in the process of applying for EMT course to use in the forces), but I have piss poor credit and by the time it's all said and done, I'll be at least 39. Regardless of age and the fact it's (from what I've heard) a direct entry position, do you think I'd be passed over because I'd be 39 - 40
