Sara Dietschy in NYC, & a day in the life of a pedalbuilder

Recently I got the chance to go to NYC to do a video and podcast with Sara Dietschy. If you're not familiar with Sara, she went viral by making a spoof of a Casey Neistat video, which then lead to working with Casey himself, and eventually getting an office at 368 Broadway, which is the same building that Casey works in.

So, I'll discuss what that was like a little bit here, but I'll mostly explain what my normal day to day looks like, as a follow up to my last video.
It seems that some of the viewers had the wrong idea about what it means to find work and make a living doing something you're "passionate" about, so if you like guitar effects or have thought of starting a small business building guitar pedals, this video will show you what the majority of my day looks like. Lots of phone calls, email, and then experimentation with new effect ideas.

Cool video and glad you shared it with us. I don't know why you felt the need to play the same programmed soulless music almost everyone else plays on their videos. Let the comments roll. There's much more relevant programmed music if you're going that route but that's just my opinion I get to throw out for sending you many of my paychecks for wonderful pedals! Seriously, love what you do Brian and this is not a bash just an opinion

Just throwing an idea out there, a pedal I've always wanted but can't really find (there's only 2 I know of that almost kind of do it) is a vibrato pedal with a random old tape/vinyl warble to it. Maybe with some filter on it too. I want to sound like I'm listening to/playing on an old beat up record.

ehowie Thanks that's a good shout, but the random vibrato is what I'm mostly after, and that one is very regular. Cool pedal though. The Fairfield Shallow water is the closest to what I want but it's very expensive and has a weird gate thing that holds me off.

I think maybe vinyl was a bad description on my part, since that might imply a regular warble. The Chase bliss is not a random vibrato like I want.

Warped Vinyl has a CV (Control Voltage) input jack, so if you like the sound it creates but want it to be more random you could probably find/build a random CV generator that you could plug into the WV pedal. I know it's more bulky than a single pedal, but it might be your only option. Contact Chase Bliss about a random CV controller, they'd probably know of something. Good luck!!!
