Ski jumper Takanashi Sara has been learning about climate change and taking part in activities to protect snow-covered mountains, as she feels a sense of crisis that the next generation of children may not be able to enjoy snow sports due to the lack of snow caused by global warming. Sara visited the Republic of Palau, an island nation that is affected by climate change.
Palau benefits from the diverse coastal ecosystems of its World Heritage-listed beautiful seas, forests, coral reefs and mangroves. However, in recent years, it has been threatened by climate change and other factors, such as coral bleaching and serious damage caused by natural disasters.
In this video, you will learn about the climate change action that Palau is taking together with JICA, with Sara Takanashi. Please take a look at the initiatives being taken to protect Palau's beautiful coral reefs and mangrove forests.
