What has this got to do with all other police officers? It was the vetting department at fault, they are not police officers. And if you want to say CERTAIN heads of the police force are to blame for not realising this, then fair. Still has nothing to do with other police officers. Stop generalising.

@moreplease998
@moreplease998 3 ай бұрын
There's several reasons and it depends on the nature of the debt. One reason is that having debt makes you more vulnerable to bribery and such. The offer to remove the debt can be enticing. Debt per se might not be due to irresponsible behaviour but if it is this will be revealed in the background check and will be a flag against you. There's lots of reasons

@ison Well managed loans that are paid off regularly and always on time is a primary way to boost ones credit score. The higher the score the easier it is to get good mortgages and the like. Get a good credit score with the bank and you can do things like ask for huge loans to start up a business that you've realised is a slam dunk to big profits and have the bank say yes. A lot of people who are in debt are doing it to play the game of maximising credit scores. It's all about building the image that you can be trusted with money that is loaned to you. If you don't play the game, you can't build the image and without the image you won't be able to ask for big investments in your ideas unless you already have a lot of assets to serve as collateral if your idea doesn't pan out.

"the UK police forces are rotten to the core . Dont bother reporting crime coz no good will come of it . Recruitment of police officers should involve rigorous testing for personality disorders. Of course it doesn't, which is largely because the police force find it useful to recruit violent, right-wing people. This is because the purpose of the police force is not to protect the public, but to control the public for their overlords - who are other violent, greedy, right-wing people. This is particularly the case with officers recruited to work undercover in protest movements, but is generally true among the wider force. Plus, it attracts people who wish to abuse their power. I would suggest we apply the same strict recruitment policies to Politicians and Social Workers.
