My third great grandfather, Edward McGourn, came from Ireland to Mansfield, Ohio. He married, and had several children, after which he left them for the gold rush in California. And my grandmother then divorced him.

ok my theory is his investment didn't pan out and he didn't want the family to know of the failure. Or, he left and just didn't come back and this is the story the family told to save face. Then again it could be anything - just putting my chips in the kitty here.

Hodge is ENGLISH.. So is Parker @ Plumb who emigrated to the USA 1800’s from Barrowby Lincolnshire ENGLAND.. Iam related to this Family.
