This is why I love Conan. He, smartly, adjusted his shows structure to a podcast style interview to work WITH Covid. Instead of keeping the same structure of a talk show... smart guy. Conan has always been my favorite late night show. 👍👏

I'm really looking forward to his new "variety show" on HBO Max next year. No real details yet, but I like the idea of switching up the format -- kinda like what you're talking about with regards to his response to the pandemic protocols. I'm betting since it's said to be weekly, that it'll be hour-long episodes again too.

While they may sound and look similar, illicit is an adjective describing something that is illegal or not permitted, while elicit is a verb meaning "to bring forth a reaction or response." Elicit can be traced back to lacere, which means "to allure," while is related to licēre, which means "to be permitted." And to solicit is to request it a response.

I love this! Sarah is hilarious and delightful as always. It's kind of a blessing in disguise that Conan lost the Tonight Show. In this setting, he gets to be looser with his comedy...I don't think he'd get away with that last bit, where he's pretending to kick Mussolini's head around Italy. I had to watch that multiple times. His ability to elevate a joke so quickly is remarkable. I don't know if there's another talk show host around with such a quick wit. Of course I realize it's all so subjective.

Conan and Sarah do not have to wear masks, and rightfully so, because they are well beyond the distancing as suggested by the CDC. The others in their seats are even more spaced apart, yet they have to wear masks for the sake of appearances. (When you hear them speak up the in the background, their voices are crystal clear until the camera turns their way, then the masks go on, and their voices are muffled again. They put them on quickly upon speaking, but why? It's alright without. People, it is OKAY to not wear a mask according to the proper guidelines just like it's okay to wear a mask according to the proper guidelines.
