Just as magical the second time around! Will gladly see a house concert with Sarah again any day!

What a moving story... Sarah's song made me cry. My tears weren't shed just for those who lost their lives in WWI but for those lost in all the wars fighting for what we believe. Thousands and thousands... lives not only gone, but lives forever damaged by the horrors of combat. I think I was crying hardest for the beautiful young man I said good bye to in 1968 as he flew away to fight in Vietnam. I never understood the terror I know now he experienced. He came back to me a year later and we were together for fourteen more years. He was different... but I never stopped loving him and I suppose I never will. I wish I could tell him that face to face so that he could understand that I know I failed him.

Sarah puts it very plainly in this song how cynical we are, and how much better we can make it for the next generation, if we are willing to do so. It's so easy just to love, and be responsible for our immediate surroundings. We all can do better with that.

I think I've guessed which song she'll be playing for Radio-Canada, j'y tiens/CBC, I Care's rally-concert in Ottawa next Monday night. Hoping I'm right.
