This video is a fantastic guide for anyone planning a trip to New York City, especially those who want to find the perfect place to stay without breaking the bank. The detailed list of hotels and accommodations offers something for everyone, no matter your budget. I appreciate how the video not only highlights the best places to stay, like Aloft LIC and the Refinery Hotel, but also provides useful links and a free 3-day NYC itinerary, which is incredibly helpful for first-time visitors. The inclusion of hotels across different neighborhoods, like Arlo Williamsburg, shows a well-rounded understanding of the city, allowing viewers to explore beyond the typical tourist spots. The video's production quality and the clear, concise information make it a must-watch for anyone looking to make the most out of their NYC visit. Whether you’re a budget traveler or looking for something more upscale, this guide has you covered. Great job on creating such an informative and engaging video! I’ll definitely be checking out some of these recommendations on my next trip to NYC

I love how the title says staying in NYC without going broke. Every hotel is really really expensive. How about doing a video on hotels normal people can afford? I don't mind a tram or train ride that is 30 minutes out. I would love to take my family there during Christmas Time. What hotels are there, further away, that we can stay at with easy (ish) transportation to all the tourist sites. I don't mind a 30 or so minute ride but I'm not paying $500 a night for a hotel. That's insane. Any ideas? Thanks

Another option is to stay in Jersey City or Hoboken. You can get into Manhattan just as fast as you can from Queens. In Jersey you'll get a view of Manhattan, but you'll be paying less money or getting much more space for your money. Also, if you want to drive to NYC you can park your car in Jersey for MUCH less. Leave your car in Jersey and take the PATH or ferry into Manhattan. Jersey City and Hoboken look just like many parts of Brooklyn. You can take pictures of Hoboken or JC and tell your friends you stayed in Brooklyn and they'll never know the diff.

@@boredfairy7089 'W' Hoboken. Pricey. Good views of Manhattan. Public parking garages near hotel. Easy assess to Manhattan ferry service (expensive) or PATH train ($2.90/10 minutes to Manhattan) . Hoboken is a nice, walkable town. Plenty of restaurants, bars, etc. Hilton in Jersey City. Not as expensive. Easy access to PATH train or to Ferry . Can walk to local mall or supermarket. Hotel parking charge is $28 per day self-serve (no in-out privileges).

Hey Sarah, my husband and I spent an amazing week in NYC last month for our 15th wedding anniversary. It was my first time in the city and we had to go on a budget and we went with a hotel in Maspeth Queens next to some business, near a highway and next to an old Jewish cemetery. No tourists. Definitely where the real New Yorkers lived because we commuted by bus, to the subway station, to Manhattan, etc. We also chose it because we drove to NYC and needed to find a place with free parking so hey, it was there and you know what?? It didn't change our enjoyment of NYC at all. Did we have the great spectacular view? No. It was a very quiet view of graves but we weren't spending much time at the hotel because we were spending our time exploring the city and experiencing NYC as a regular local and I fell in love! I want to go back so much now 🤩😍 so even though we were at a cheap but comfortable hotel, it still worked out for us in the end.

I stayed at The Flat NYC on W 24th St in the Flatiron District, really central to all the main tourist sites and attractions and had some good food options nearby. Rooms were a little small which is typical of big city hotel rooms in NYC, London, Paris etc and there were shared bathrooms but overall it was comfortable and the staff were really friendly, also free water, tea and coffee in the lobby. It was about $216USD per night which was not bad value given it was pretty centrally located, I’d recommend it to people wanting to stay in midtown Manhattan.

If you mean the Upper West Side as a neighborhood, yeah, it's safe. I grew up in that neighborhood in the 1970s and 80s, when it was dangerous, and I still take precautions like never putting anything of value in my back pockets or putting a bag down where it's easy to grab and run away with. I recommend that you take those precautions anywhere in the city, even though many people have relaxed a lot, and I've stopped warning strangers to take their cellphones out of their back pockets if they want to keep them.

I stayed fairly close to Times Square which I didn't like, but it's a good central location. Don't spend too much time in Times Square. I recommend Edge (for the most incredible views), Brooklyn Bridge at sunrise and sunset (in Dumbo), Central Park, shopping in Soho, restaurants/shops in the West Village, walk the Highline... to name a few things- there is SO much to do! You may want to see a show on Broadway. I went to the NY Philharmonic and it was incredible. I prefer lower Manhattan to Upper Manhattan although I really love Upper East Side.
