LOVE your stance on birthing. I’ve heard so many women say that they are stronger than others for opting out of pain meds. That it’s “harder”. I’ve had an epidural that worked with 1/3 kids. So 2/3 I’ve felt every ounce of discomfort. Wish all natural mamas thought like you!!

It’s so interesting to hear other people takes on natural labor. Almost everyone in my family has had to be induced and in the hospital during their births because their bodies couldn’t actually naturally do it alone. Your comfort will absolutely make your labor easier and faster. Good luck and prayers!!

I had a natural birth for my first, then I got pregnant 3 months later with twins and had them at 26 weeks and had to have emergency c section. Then for my 3rd pregnancy I tried to do go for a vaginal birth but unfortunately the doctor felt it would be to risky because for my previous c section I was cut higher on my stomach which could make it dangerous to push the baby out. And to add to it, baby number 4 was not coming on his own as quickly as doctors hoped he would. So sadly that didn’t work out but I tried and God gave me an excellent doctor and it worked out the way that kept me and baby safe and alive and I’m extremely grateful!!

Me too. I had some morphine to get some sleep the night before my daughter was born and the epidural the day of. Induction 'pre-labour' lasted about 40 hours for me were I was borderline active labour for a very long time. Definitely not the pregnancy, labour and birth I was ever expecting for my 1st time. But I made the best choice for me and believe the pain medications were the only reason I had the strength to push her out as quickly as needed when she went into distress at the very end.

I was feeling like a total failure, because after pushing for 2 and a half hours I had to get a c section. I'm glad I asked my doctor afterwards if I would have been able to push him out and he said not without damaging his shoulder. My boys shoulder was stuck on my pelvic bone. It was not an easy recovery not being able to get up on my own being so sore just having surgery, and trying to hold my baby too with a catheter, IVs and blood transfusion bags. C sections are not the easy way out. No matter how you deliver your baby the only thing that matters is baby and momma are safe and healthy.

I prepared myself for months… but then i was in labor for 38 hours… I could handle the pain but I was so tired i felt myself slipping away. The doctors gave me a choice, an epidural to have an opening for the baby cause I just couldnt get to the 10cm. Then it went so fast in 1h the baby came out. I felt everything cause the pain numbing came after the birth 😂 then I was out and could not walk around. It was my first and unfortunatly not everything goes as planned, but I was so proud of myself and felt so blessed. I planned on a natural birth with my daughter. My ideal birth would’ve been a water birth… But she loved her womb apartment so much she did not want to come out even at 42 weeks. I had to be induced. After 4 days of labor, I asked for epidural- and it failed. I still went on and finally got to pushing for 5 hours. Baby did not descend, so I had to have an urgent cesarean surgery. It was traumatic, but both my daughter and I are healthy! I’m still grieving the loss of my desired birth and processing through what happened. But I’d do it 10 times again for my baby daughter. It amazes me how we are made so strong as women. In the end, we just have to leave it all to God and have faith. I’ll be praying for you that God will assist you in every step of your birth!

I figured out what labor pains were sort of like. If you ever had a charlie horse, like in your calf muscle, its literally a charlie horse. IN YOUR UTERUS. Because that entire muscle and surrounding area tightens up uncontrollably during a contraction, just like that muscle in your leg. Only....think about that large area holding that baby.... So yea. A contraction is a massive charlie horse in your uterus. BTW also had a water birth with my second, and am praying you have a peaceful home birth!!! xoxo

I also had intense back labour with my baby. I know I felt contractions in my stomach, too, but I don't remember them as much -- I only remember the feeling I got in my back. I remember thinking afterward that if I had only laboured in my belly, labour would have been easy, haha! I later found out (after the birth of my daughter, when I went to see a chiropractor for the first time in my life) that my pelvis was totally unaligned! I'm positive that's what caused my back labour. Next time, I will be seeing a chiro AND a massage therapist throughout my whole pregnancy!

Sounds like my experience. 4 years later, the pain still comes to mind often, and when i try to decribe it, even just to myself, i say that all i could think at the time (i say 'think' even though i was long past logical thought) was "I wanna die." It was like everything i was as a person had ceased to exist, all there was was pain, and i was just ready to die.

Exactly what I experienced too... i also have three children and my best delivery was my last : induced labor with epidural from the start... and still, i found it very painful despite the epidural...but i didn't want to die (contrary to the first two), so it was OK 👌

I had an emergency csection 2 weeks ago. It is by no means the easy way out. The recovery is really hard!!! Just get the baby out healthy.

I am about 23 weeks pregnant with my third. I am the opposite when it come to labor. Both of my babies went to 41 weeks and 1 day and I had to be induced with pitocin (and elected to have an epidural with both half way through due to the intense pain). 😅 My birth goals are to go into labor on my own (I have been practicing relaxing because I’m usually tensed up) and to not tear. I did not tear with my second child and recovery was much better. With my first I tore a little bit and bleeding was heavy and long for me. I hope you have a good third trimester!! 😄

Your stance on epidural is refreshing. When I was expecting my first baby, people felt like telling me how they delivered babies without an epidural... made me feel like getting one would be a failure. Not cool. As it turned out, I got an epidural, but the epidural itself failed and numbed only the left half of my body, despite the anesthesist trying to fix it a couple times. So I’ve had both experiences :)

I'm not sure if you read your comments or not... I wouldn't have time to lol BUT I always have my kids home when I give birth!! They're welcome to come and go as they please. 4th baby was overnight so they slept through that (it was a little traumatic so it worked) we turn a favorite tv show on when it's TIME to keep the toddler busy. And this time my aunt took them for a few hours while I was laboring but they came home and my oldest got to be in the room when baby was born. It's nice to just keep things super casual and just part of our life lol

I'm almost exactly a month behind you, my baby is due September 10th. Loving all the pregnancy content! We are also not finding out the gender and planning for a home birth. Glad to hear your pelvis is doing better! Love from Ontario (we are originally from BC and my husband is from Mission, so not far from you - hoping to move back soon!)

OMG someone let her adopt more children, she's going to have more kids anyway. She has already brought 4 (almost) babies to this world, she has done enough!

I had my 4th baby at home with a 6year old, 4year old, and 2year old. It worked out that I went into labor after the kids went to bed and baby was born before they woke up, except that the 2year old woke up and was very concerned but interested and sweet about seeing me in labor.

I always say if you’re pushing a baby out of your body whether you have pain meds or not it’s natural.

Back labor is no joke. One of my labors was entirely back labor and the other ended in back labor.

It is so refreshing to hear someone hold vaginal and cesarean delivery up on the same level. With my first I wanted vaginal delivery so badly. I was in labor for 27 hours and pushed for over an hour and they couldn't figure out why he wouldn't come out. During the pushing his heart rate plummeted along with mine and my blood pressure and they rushed me to emergency cesarean. After, the doctor looked at me and said, "Honey, your pelvis wouldn't allow you to give birth to a golf ball." 😂😂😂 Lucky baby and I were okay and my daughter was just straight cesarean. But what really hurt is a few years after my daughters birth someone actually said to me that because I didn't have a vaginal delivery that I'm not a mother, that I don't love my kids, and that they should be taken from me. This was completely shocking to me that someone could have that mindset. She didn't even know that I medically can't give birth vaginally. People should be sooooo careful about what they say.

Also wanted to add that I so admire how much you love Jesus. I'm right there with you! And, at least where I'm at, I simply can't find a lot of women who share that same love and devotion. It's so great when I can find another sister even if they are far away! Also also...did NOT want to freak you out with my birth story. You have had successful vaginal deliveries. I never have. So you are A OK and I know you will be through this babe too. I was just reflecting on my comment and like....mmmmmm she doesn't want to hear that in her third trimester😂😂😭🤦🤦🤦

I pushed for 2 hours but it was by choice! I wanted to have my body gently stretch as baby made her way out. No tearing, no stress, baby’s heart rate was fine and it was an awesome birth! I know what you mean though, having a stuck baby is no fun for anyone.
