I just wanted to say that I think that it is awesome that you aren’t wanting this baby be your last! 🥰 So many people in the comments are kinda freaking out but I think it’s cool! I am actually the second of ten and it has been the most amazing life ever! As I type I am actually holding my youngest baby brother! It is such a blessing to have so many siblings and to be surrounded with kids of all ages! Praying for your family and over this pregnancy! I am so glad that you are feeling better! Joelle

dude for someone to call "love handles" sexy and luscious just blew my mind. I've been hard on myself because this is my first baby and i've gained 50 pounds! and i still have a month to go.. that being said its purely genetic because my mum and aunts did the same. But wow thanks for embracing the weight gain, it isn't talked about in a good way very often! and actually made me feel so much better!

A man friend said this to me once and it always stuck with me so I hope it helps. But I had gained some weight and was feeling insecure and he straight face told me “If a man is worried about a woman’s love handles that means he doesn’t know how to use them!!” lol so simple but so true. And hopefully it’s more on our brains than theirs

We found out the gender with our first three, and then decided to be surprised with our fourth pregnancy. We STILL found out something at the ultrasound, though - it was twins! 😆 So it turned out to be a double surprise for the babies’ genders, and it was SO MUCH FUN, I will absolutely choose to be surprised if we have another baby. 🥰

I’m also pregnant and having pelvic issues. I’m glad you mentioned pelvic floor therapy because not a lot people know about it, they always say “just do kegels...”, well guess what I went to a pf specialist and she told me not to do kegels because my muscles are super tight to the point that my constipation is because of my pelvic floor and not my diet... the therapy is really helping.

You’re not alone with minimal weight gain! I get a lot of criticism for it, but I think it’s the way my body is made and how my metabolism works. After nine months postpartum, while still breastfeeding , I always drop 10 pounds below my prepregnancy weight. I get a lot of comments about needing to fatten up. But I eat healthy and I take care of myself, so I’m not sure what else to do in the weight department besides accept what the Lord has given me for a body. I’m so glad to meet another mama designed like this.

This was super encouraging! I'm 12 weeks pregnant with my first baby and my belly is starting to pop. I know you're on your 4th so it usually speeds up a lot the more you have, but it was really nice to be like "Ok, she's super healthy, and her baby bump is starting to show, It's not crazy for me to start noticing this as I get ready to enter my 2nd trimester!" It's still not to the point that anyone would know I was pregnant, but none of my pants fit me anymore haha! I've also been super sick and feeling horrible for weeks, so I'm really excited to get into the 2nd trimester and hopefully feel some relief from exhaustion and morning sickness! Your positive attitude was really refreshing :)

Just a few minutes in, but I have to say this helps so much- I'm pregnant w/ my second and this pregnancy is so vastly different with this one (a bit harder) than it was with my first and I recently hit my second trimester and all of a sudden pretty much all my symptoms stopped and that definitely scared me, but just how you were describing the start of your second trimester is helping me so much. Dear Sara, you are a real inspiration to me in many ways and I would like to tell you that it is sooo nice that you praise your curves, but please do not be disappointed that you cannot gain weight. This just puts negative thoughts in your mind and it's useless. As for breastfeeding, I ate literally like an animal. Almost every other day after dinner, I ate a pack of chips and I also ate one whole chocolate a day. I was also too skinny, but this helped me, even though it is categorized as junk food. There is no need to be strict with yourself, because who should love us, if not us. I'm sending love!

Thank you so much for talking about the struggles of gaining weight during your pregnancy as a slim person! I have been struggling to feel understood in this same problem because so often people are talking about gaining too much weight in pregnancy. I'm really small and lost 10lbs in my first trimester (without much nausea) now I'm 26 weeks and have finally gained back that 10lbs plus 3 more, but it's been really discouraging to find healthy way to do that. Sometimes I feel like a slave to food because all I want is a healthy and strong baby!

As long as your doctor isn’t worried and your baby looks strong and healthy, that’s all you have to worry about. I feel like the pregnancy weight regulations are a joke. Every women is sooooo different! Just make sure your eating healthy and taking some good whole food prenatal vitamins! I was the opposite, I gained a bunch with all three of my pregnancies. Wayyyy over the limit. One of my pregnancies I wasn’t working, barely moving and eating whatever I wanted. With the other, I was working out 3X a week, working part time and eating healthy the whole pregnancy. I was the same exact weight both pregnancies! I realized that’s just how my body carries babies! (But I can definitely say that recovery and weight loss was the best after the healthy active pregnancy so I totally recommend staying active!)

I gained an INSANE 60-63 pounds during my pregnancy. This is crazy because my boy kept SO, just ridiculously sick, the entire pregnancy - plus another 6 weeks after he was born. I was on multiple anti-nausea medications the whole time, and I would make a decent sized brunch around 10:30 in the morning and it would literally take me until 11pm to eat it all. And my son hated sugar. I couldn't even do half of a plain glazed doughnut without feeling like I was dying the rest of the day. I had maybe the equivalent of 6 normal sized cookies worth of deserts the entire 9 months. The first 4 months we lived on 2 Almond butter breakfast granola bars and 1 can of mandarin oranges and a few pieces of toast. For the while day. Every day. For 4 months. It's all he let me eat. I still gained 20 pounds those 4 months. And the reason I even mention it was we only managed to breastfeed for 5 weeks. I gained 60 pounds while barely eating and we still barely made it 5 weeks before my milk dried up. I honestly felt like a freak of nature at that point because none of it made any sense. I'd recommend checking out Sarah Lavonne's channel or website, at bundlebirth.com she's a midwife but also coaches on breastfeeding. She does a lot of informational video and courses. I plan on paying for her breastfeeding course next pregnancy but even just the free video content has given me several good ideas about what may have contributed to the milk problem. And if gaining weight isn't seeming to work so far in this pregnancy maybe some of her other ideas can help you keep your milk longer this time.

It's so reassuring to hear other women talking about the same experiences. my partner and I have been trying for a baby for 2 years with no luck. I know I am technically underweight so I've been trying to gain weight in hopes that it will help our chances, if nothing else I will at least be able to be referred for fertility treatment as they won't see you unless your BMI is at least 19. It's been such a struggle for me, I feel like I'm forcing myself to eat all day everyday to the point of feeling sick but I'm still not gaining more than like 5 lbs.

I have the opposite problem. I'm not heavy but I am very muscular. I gain weight if I even look at a carb lol (and naturally that's my biggest cravings right now). I've decided, with my midwifes support due to history of anorexia, not to weigh myself during this pregnancy and it has really helped. Don't binge on junk food regularly. Other than that, drink lots of fluids and you and baby will be just fine.

I'm so glad your pain has subsided. Those are the same exercises that Julie Tupler from the Tupler technique teaches in pregnancy pilates. I was so lucky to have a local pilates instructor who taught them and it helped me immensely with all my three pregnancies. Also, I think if you increased your chocolate chip and peanut butter snack to 3-5 times a day rather than just once you could put on a bit more weight. I nursed my babies until age 2 or 2.5 so I know how important it feels to be able to nourish those wee babes long term.

I am a little nervous about my second baby but If the pain comes back I will be sure to see a pelvic specialist!! I guess with my first I just assumed it was normal to be in pain during and after pregnancy 🤷‍♀️

Decided to finally bite the bullet and go for this more expensive pillow and wish I’d done it sooner. It really is so good isn’t it? I thank God for the pillow and for swimming as now pelvic pain has disappeared yay! I’m due first baby in July and have found all your pregnancy videos so helpful and encouraging - thank you and praying for the rest your pregnancy - you are an inspiration 😊

Even just the beginning of this video gave me hope. I'm pregnant with my 2nd and it is going NOTHING like my first pregnancy. This one is giving me terrible 1st trimester pregnancy symptoms and now I'm really am looking forward to the 2nd trimester. My first pregnancy was reverse. 1st trimester had nothing happening and I didn't feel pregnant at all, then I was hit hard with symptoms the 2nd trimester so I was worries with this one I was just going to have extended symptoms.

You are amazing! Such a blessing to have a pregnancy, a happy pelvis, amazing abb situation! Hurray! I got crazy skinny while breastfeeding. But I have no problem gaining weight without baby/nursing. However, my mom seems to have had a situation more like yours with difficulty gaining weight and being petite. She nursed me for 6 months. (this was in the 80's in quebec, so no maternity pay - so she saved up for her time at home etc) ANNNYWAY, she had trouble and helped me when I noticed I might be having trouble. The #1 thing was that I needed to eat and drink with every feed. That meant from day 1 - everytime I nursed I had to eat a half size meal or a few snacks and a tall glass of water. This helped my supply last. I was able to nurse up to almost a year with my first. But then with my second I focused on the eating, and on listening to my body for what foods to eat. I noticed I wanted things like dairy (which I don't normally have) and bananas, more servings of healthy carbs like a bowl of sweet potatoes or fruits and nuts. We nursed long. Up to about 2.5 years (the last year being only 2xper day - but still oh my goodness) I gained back my normal weight with him after the first year. And then I wasn't shrinking anymore. I think It also had to do with his eating solid food and having breastmilk as the supplement. I know you will be amazing. Nursing even for a short period of time is a wonderful blessing! But making sure to eat with every feed (my mom said that I was basically doubling my food intake, and it helped) This is a long comment, I know you may not have a chance to read it. So I'll pray that things go well for you and that you feel good about your pregnancy. Feel happy about your amazing body. Feel proud of this. Especially if this is your last pregnancy. LOVE YOURSELF. LOVE YOUR BODY. Sending you LOVE from Winnipeg ~Jj

That’s hard! That’s how I felt with my last pregnancy. It felt like I would never feel better again. But it does get better! I started to feel a little better at 10 weeks and little by little I would feel better. But 2-3 months is a longggg time to feel sick! I realized that getting out of the house really helped me feel better. I really didn’t want to leave but once I was outside I would feel better! Camping was the best!

Jamie French posted a video on her channel about how she treated her gallstones without surgery. She did this treatment that I believe she referred to as a "colonial", where she went to a "people plumber" as she put it. She was hesitant to remove her gallbladder because she had a negative experience removing other seemingly benign organs. Seems like she has had a really positive experience, might be worth looking into. You look awesome, and the pelvic floor exercise you shared was so cool! I did not even know you could do that! G-d bless.

I gained 20 pounds at my first pregnancy, and i lost so much weight with breastfeeding, i was so weak, felt so disy the entire time, i was lacking nutriments, i was sick every month. Now it's my second pregnancy, i never total put on the weight that i lost from breastfeeding so i started this second pregnancy skinier, but i'm gaining more weight this time, and i'm also hoping that it will allow me to have more strength for breastfeeding. I stopped breastfeeding after 9 months, cause i had enough to be so weak, i hope this time it can last a year.

I understand your struggle with weight gain. People love to make negative comments about how skinny I am but I eat a healthy diet and I'm very active with my job, it's just genetically difficult for me to gain weight! People just can't seem to wrap their head around it

I was really disappointed in myself for gaining 12 pounds at 5 1/2 months (I’m short so I just feel huge) even eating healthyish & consistently working out but I’ve been able to continue nursing my 18 month old & was able to nurse our 3 yo along with my now 18 month old until we found out we were pregnant with this bby. I never realized that some women struggle to gain weight & it just makes me appreciate the weight gain more 😅 the things we take for granted. Best of luck on your BF journey with this little one ☺️

I am the same way with weight gain during pregnancy and loss during breast feeding. With my son I lost so much weight when breast feeding and hadn't been so skinny since high school. I had to stop breastfeeding around 4 months. Hoping it is better this time around with baby number 2!

Hi Sara, I'm so happy about your pregnancy, and that your pelivc pain is reducing, because honestly, I've also been praying for you and your baby. Also, I have a recomendation for your weight gaining problems, because I have the same problem no matter how much I eat - I think its genetic, my mum was the same - and just the other day, I found a youtuber who had/has the same problem @Coco Janelle so I'm going to give her plan a go and see if it works for me. I'm praying for you, and I hope everything goes well

During my second pregnancy i gain 10 kilos, after birth loos it very fast and now I am super skinny but still breast feeding my baby 13,5 monts🥰, so my theory is that even if you are skinny and even more your body knows what to do and it can produce milk for baby

As to breastfeeding - i lost a lot of wieght, but only for the first few months (about 6). After that i could actually gain weight no problem. So you might feel like you are going to keep loosing so much weight, but it isn't nescesarily going to be like that! If you have any trouble breastfeeding get professional help! For me 2 most important things are that the baby latches on properly (you nipple can't be squished, it shouldn't hurt or bleed) and to feed on demand day and night. Also, if you want to breastfeed, don't give formula unless there is a medical recommendation (like not enough weight gain). Best of luck.

those weight gain comments hit so close to home for me, but it's hard to find anyone who I can relate to on the subject!! I was so looking forward to gaining a little extra to help me look a bit more "womanly" so to speak, as I was only 98lbs when I found out I was expecting! By the end I was nearly 160, pure belly, and now that it's all melted away I look like a deflated balloon. 😅 It's not cute at all, it's a saggy mess and now I'm trying even harder to gain some of it back and I can honestly say I NEVER in my life thought I would care this much about gaining weight!! Motherhood is such a crazy journey.

I hear ya with the wanting to gain weight! I have been the same as you. I’m slim and petite (but taller than you) and don’t gain a ton of weight in pregnancy and then lose it so fast and get skinny with breast feeding. I cried at 2 weeks post partum with #5 when I could fit into my prepregnancy shorts. I was hoping maybe with the fifth one and being a bit older that some of the weight would stay. Sure didn’t. Now that I’m almost done nursing I have again a couple of pounds back. All this to say that you’re not alone and I hear ya. It will all work out how it needs to. 💞
