I’m not a thrill seeker, got roped into going for my moms 50th birthday, had the whole family there for the ride. I felt sick to my stomach for weeks leading up to this, losing sleep and driving myself crazy. I wanted to throw up in the plane I was so nervous. did my first skydive at 13,000ft today. After weeks of self torture, literally 1 second after leaving the plane realizing my stomach didn’t drop and doing a double backflip I found myself for the first time in my 33 years of life. If we can conquer our fears there’s nothing we can’t do. Best experience of my life.

This is me except I havent gone yet. Want to conquer my fear but am absolutely terrified. I dont like being 30k ft in the air on a normal airplane. The idea of jumping out of it gives me nightmares.

and to add to another fear people have being heights; that doesn't register up there. no building, house or road to base your sense of altitude on. you see mountains and beautiful sky.@@misscandy84

I've been contemplating sky diving, like it freaks me out but I really want to do it. I'm so happy you mentioned bungee jumping because that was an amazing experience and I felt nothing but pure bliss and the feeling of being free. This really made me feel good about skydiving.

My experience in Perris, CA was a small plane that was cramped like sardines, when we got about 5k feet they lifted the door so we could see land getting smaller & smaller. Our tandem jumpers started strapping us in. Then it went fast. It was no time to think, the instructor jumped, the fall did give my stomach the feel as a roller coaster for me, like the heart dropped to my knees. I was waiting for him to pull the cord because you're falling at high speed. I did have a vid taken & although it felt like forever for him to pull the parachute cord, the video revealed it was only a few seconds. Although I did feel the effects of the initial jump, & the shock factor which is way worse than a roller coaster because it's just you to the wind, after the parachute is pulled it's smooth sailing there is no more tickle to the stomach unlike being on a roller coaster where it ebbs & flows with the dips. & I can def comprehend the height because since I saw the land getting smaller I knew I was hella high, which means a splat to the ground is worse. I recommend tandem jump for the 1st time & research your location. 1st, it was a gift, but at the end of the day, I believe when it's our time to die, no matter the place it'll happen, so that helped me get over the fear. I was still nervouse but I did have 2 ppl who came in support that didn't jump just watched. I would love to go skydiving again but am scared of bungee jumping 🤷🏽♀️

I’m half agree with you, I did my first jump in august-23-2020 I’ve never been in a roller coaster I can’t explain if its the same sensation, but yessss I dooo felt my stomach dropping at the beginning when I jumped it was terrifying, I remember the speed and the void when i jumped but still the free fall is the best feeling ever, the adrenaline OMG I just have no words, JUST DO IT, WORTHS EVERY DROP OF FEAR ANDDD REMEMBER “in life it's not about not being afraid, it's about doing things even if you're fucking afraid. (Sorry, I’m a Spanish speaking I’m learning English)

You go so fast , you don't feel nothing! Except the wind. When the parachute opens, when the instructors turns as you're landing is when it kinda does feel like a rollercoaster. It's been 2 years since I jumped, I want to jump at least 10,000 times more before I die!!! Sometimes I want to get certified to jump solo!!! Thanks to skydiving , I'm becoming an adrenaline junkie! The following summer, August 2019 , went to Cancun to scratch another one off the bucket list: swim with WHALE SHARKS!!! Next up , I want to become scuba certified Go cage diving with GREAT WHITE SHARKS!!! 🎵Du Dum🎵 And let's see what else is there.... For now I definitely want to do the 2 I mentioned! Stay safe

@@sarahhtran My jump: kzbin.info/www/bejne/nqqqlJKma9N0frc Thank you. You best believe I'm determined to get them certifications! I had to see the sharks (whale AND...great whites) on RECOMMENDED VIDEOS and it looked so amazing! to the point that I got tempted to try it or want to try it sometime! The Cancun whale shark adventure already let me get a little taste of the ocean!Now I would definitely love to explore the bottom!! The coral reefs, all the beautiful colorful fish, rays, sea turtles, all marine life you can imagine!! And many other adrenaline fueling adventures!! The only issue I had while skydiving was my ears were ringing for about an hour after jumping. Other than that, it was an amazing/incredible/unforgettable experience! Well just a few words trying to describe something that you just can't describe! Suggestion to people wanting to try it: JUST DO IT!!!!!! and feel it for yourself. Stay safe!! Keep jumping! I want to go again,soon !!

Hi Sarah, thanks for the video - I do skydive and I also tried bungee jumping and roller coasters of course, and I agree with you that you dont get the stomach sensation from skydiving as you do with the other two - HOwever the physics explanation you give is not quite correct - you dont get all the initial speed of the plane because basically youo are cchanging directions , but some of that enough not to feel like a free fall.

Hii can you explain what the white little parachute looking thing is that comes up before the actual parachute?
@tobyhill79153 жыл бұрын
The little parachute you described is called a "pilot chute". It's used to catch just enough air to pull the deployment bag that contains the main chute. Hopefully this makes sense!

Do yu have ro pull anything when your jumping out in air or do instructors do everything for yu

I heard that you feel that roller coaster feeling when they open the parachute and you get pulled up really, really fast. What about that part for you?
@lightraveler3332 жыл бұрын
Never yet been skydiving but this is the logic I use of how it might feel. If you've ever been in a car going 70 mph and you hang your arms out the window there is a lot of resistance a wind cushion. My understanding is that you fall 120 mph skydiving so imagine the wind resistance against your arm even stronger. So I wouldn't imagine it feels like a roller coaster drop probably more so like a floating. That's just my guess is it close?
@jayseandon2 жыл бұрын
Actually a good take. I go in 2 weeks and didn’t think of it like that
@JJJJ-he8bz3 жыл бұрын
The biggest coaster I’ve ridden is 420 feet launching at 120 mph in 4 seconds with only a lap bar. Even that was child’s play compared to sky diving. I think sky diving is way more intense I don’t have to sign a 10 page waiver when I ride a coaster.

To set this up, I'm both a roller coaster enthusiast (276 different coasters ridden to date), and I've jumped out of a plane one time so far. Plans for both numbers to go up soon are in the works. I haven't bungie jumped, but hopefully I will one day. I both agree and disagree with what you said though. Skydiving and roller coasters do give completely different sensations and feelings. Generally, I prefer skydiving, but two roller coasters have actually given me better adrenaline rushes than freefalling to Earth. When you said that skydiving might not do much for you if you were a roller coaster fan, I respectfully disagree. I can't speak for anyone but myself, but I've gotten great rushes from both. They're two different beasts that are enjoyed by people who have done both is all I'm saying. On a side note, I have some coaster enthusiast friends who would literally jump at the chance to skydive. Meanwhile, some of them wouldn't even consider it. Different strokes for different folks. Finally, I enjoyed this and every video you did on skydiving. Live well!
