Fair dinkum is from Chinese during gold rush in Australia "dinkum" = 真金。 Eg. Fair dinkum? = Is it for real?. Some ppl even shorten it ( Aussie like abbreviate everything) to Fair Din.

“Fair dinkum” means “real gold” in Cantonese. The term was coined by Chinese miners during the gold rush days.

Jason guessed Fair Dinkum is just pure luck and lexicon, but his use was totally off the mark. Budgy Smuggler is very Austraaaaalian, and now even an established brand. You can find their shop at Bondi Beach, and they sponsor a lot of Surf Life Saving events. I don't think we use Little Ripper that much anymore nowadays though. Sheila is pretty old school too. I am surprised that Jason doesn't know about docket, it is widely used in shops xD . Do we still say 'Chunder'? I thought we just say throw up or puke? Like, 'This stubby tastes so baaad I'm gawing to puke maite' I think Jason had failed the 'Pub Test' as an Aussie-wanna-be :P Does Jason know words like 'Servo' , 'Bogan', 'Maccas', 'Woop Woop' etc.? Sarah sounds like a real Aussie when she said 'mate'! Glad that she hasn't lost it :)
