I never thought I’d become obsessed with making gnomes, but it’s happened! I’m sure you can understand how making one just leads to more ideas, occasions, and cute ideas. I’m actually having trouble focusing on the other Christmas gifts that I need to get done that aren’t gnomes.

I just discovered this neat tip and wanted to share. If you take the longe spongey rollers from dollar tree (i don't know what they are called) push down, you'll see a white tip that can be removed. They make for great eyes! And you can still use the roller for arms or legs. This has worked great for me, i hope this helps someone. Happy Holidays! 🎅🤶🎁⛄

Hi there, Eleanor. Thank you so much for your sweet compliment and I'm glad you enjoyed it. Most of the faux fur I use is Mongolian (3" pile). It comes in a ton of colors but I tend to stick with frosted gray and white, but small cuts are available on Etsy for the colors. I buy most of my frosted gray on Amazon by the yard but sometimes Joann's and other fabric stores will have it in stock. I hope that helps. Let me know if I can help out or answer any questions - I just love making these little guys and gals.

Well I'm so glad to have you here, Denise. As for these little cuties, you can sell any handmade gnome for whatever price your market will bear. I buy it in bulk from Amazon, usually (search Mongolian fur). Fabric.com is another great source for it, but again,, I usually buy it by the yard (or three). And thank you so much for watching my little channel - I am honestly so lucky to get to share these with you all.

The gnome beard fur is called "Mongolian fur" in white (frosted gray is also very popular). I buy it at fabric stores and on Etsy - not sure where you are, but it's called Mongolian everywhere and has a 3" inch pile. The link to the Etsy shop is in the description if you want to see what shipping would be for you.

I made this and he kept falling over. I think I am gonna try with a jar lid for more stability.
@SarahNenniDaher4 жыл бұрын
Oh no, Melanie. You can use a jar lid or even a round piece of cardboard. Most of the time it's the lack of weight in the bottom in proportion to the height and weight of the hat. I usually add quite a bit of weight to them, pick them up and drop them - if they don't move, they're good to build on.

Just so you know, that fur is no longer available on Amazon 😢 Where do you get your paint pens?
@SarahNenniDaher5 жыл бұрын
Thank you for letting me know. I linked an alternative from a great shop on Etsy - the best part is that she will give you less than a yard, so it’s more cost effective. I get my Posca paint pens (the fine tips) on Amazon. You can use a small paint brush and acrylic paint if you have that on hand.
