IMO Audi makes some of the best looking cars out there. Unfortunately that's about all the good i can say for them. Expensive price tag and re sale value/depreciation is horrible(at least in the US). Also parts/repair costs are extremely high and there are tons of things on these cars that can break and do often. I know its a luxury car but there is so many electrical addons that are so unnecessary that end up causing too many expensive problems down the road. If i were to ever get one id lease it. Wouldnt want to deal with the headaches after 100k miles. Beautiful car though!

Neeno I would have to agree for the average person, but as a mechanic they’re a gem! My opinion has changed now after having one as a project car, they’re well engineered and no more difficult to work on then anything else once you learn how.

its to make the dashboard feel less "bulky" if they were to enclose the screen in the dash. having a lower dashboard and just a screen sticking out gives it an illusion that the dash is even smaller than it already is. the screens are usually directly mounted to the dash frame and are very sturdy.

Just bought the 2019 A5 Sportback and absolutely love it. Bought the black optic package which really spruces up the exterior and gives you 19" wheels. Couldn't be happier and btw, I love the dynamic driving mode!

Just for your info: S-Line is only the interior/exterior line. Separate from that is the S5, a 6 Cyl. quite sporty car under RS5 you mentioned.

Unfortunately, Quattro is now just the Haldex system that is FWD bias. Even the new RS3 and RS5 are now Haldex. They shouldn't even call it Quattro anymore. The mechanical, torsen system that is AWD, all of the time, is being phased out by Audi.

I have a'19 A4 S line with black optics and B&O. I am in agreeance with the B&O sound, I thought the basic Audi Concert in my B5.5 allroad was better. I might have liked the Sportback better than A4 but it's what I found so I'll live.

Think... THINK... Your TT has permanently on quattro where as the A5 Sportback only has quattro on demand unless you go for the S/RS model where you get the full quattro system... Loved the review Fresh Technical but not nerdie and Engaging loved it!

Wow you look really good Ms Sarah... next to that two bean Owedee. I like the front inside except for that silly girly shifter where you press a button to park. The google map dash without showing trash is very cool. While the rear with it spacious capacity for laying down the seats and taking your date for a nap somewhere is great, I don't like the look of those rear pillars (blind spots). The outside is ho hum and the 2.0 Liter motor says its a girl despite that manly scuba blue paint.

Tell your left foot to Heal...heel !!! Get it ?? Technology while awesome is not something you will spend much time looking at while driving (also more to go wrong). Reason I got my 2018 AMG is the fact that they are beautifully Analog/basic. I hate, emphasis on HATE, that AUDI hood with new extra special front-end. Boo !!!. Nevertheless, a 4 Cylinder in a car this size is unacceptable. On a side note the new MB A Class is $50k with 188HP. I just threw up a little bit in my mouth. People need to shop around . WE NEED AN RS4 WAGON .

Google Earth is a cool feature especially crossing bridges, but I find in day to day use I prefer the map view, less cluttered, easier to get info at a glance. It's good I feel that way since my S5 is an '18 MY and it seems all MY prior to '19 will loose Google Earth next year. Those scuffs in the trunk interesting. I've got 30k on my S5 and 60k on a B8.5 S4 and neither have anything like them, and I haul all sorts of tools in the 5.

I really like the little extras at the end. I completely agree on most wood trim. The over polished, high gloss lacquered wood veneers that most manufacturers use to add a little class inside, looks out of place and almost fake on most cars short of Bentley(best wood in the business) The more natural finish Audi used on this looks good, just hope it keeps looking good in 5-10 years. I wonder if it's real?

Great review! I found the A5 to be a very well balanced vehicle, I bought my wife a new 2013 A5 S-Line Cabriolet as an Xmas/Birthday gift and she absolutely loved it! Unfortunately the testosterone got the better of me and it was traded for an 2015 RS5 Cabriolet (w black optics pkg), totally different! She wasn’t as much of a fan (I love it), she drives my 2018 SQ5 which she loves much more, I have a Tacoma as a daily and the RS5 comes out in nice weather, it’s a blast to drive hard. My wife found the leap from 219 hp to 450 hp a bit intimidating, the handling feels way different with twice the engine weight up front, not that it’s bad, just way different. 😕
