I like this gen Type R over the last gen version. The smoother lines and better designed rear. I also agree make the damn thing a 3 door hatch instead of 4 door hatch. If I could find one without the mark up I would buy it in a heartbeat. Great video as always Sarah, your humor and silliness is top notch.

14:34 you can turn off the sound by going into INDIVIDUAL mode, set everything to R+ except the sound. It’s off when it’s on Comfort mode.

40k plus 5k dealer mark-up tag is NOT cheaper/steal! Severs also years ago we only need to pay 35k for a legendary Rally beast: 300hp Turbo + full time super AWD w differentials + Recaro buckets + 4 n 2 brembos + BBS + dual cluntch + Bilstein shocks + Endless tunability! And of course the “useless” 4 doors n seats lol.

I would definitely buy this instead of a typical "super car", and not just because it's a tenth the price. You get all that performance, the ability to bring along more than 1 passenger, plenty of cargo space, AND Honda reliability. I agree they should offer it as a 3-door hatch along with the 5-door, but apparently Americans don't "get" such vehicles. And being a 4-cylinder compact car, the gas mileage doesn't totally suck, so you really could road-trip one (that's where the "comfort" drive mode would come into play). Another fun review, and I for one am glad you're not a typical "auto journalist".

5:33 fk8 owner here. Side fender vents on fk8 are also open. 5:24 fl5 has fake vents as well, in the front off to the corners/ends of bumper

I just had a guy this past weekend in I believe a 2023 Civic R "race" me on a desolate rural state road (520 between Cocoa and Bithlo for you central Floridians)...he kept getting beside me and wanting to go. I have to admit he was much faster than any stock Honda I have ever witnessed and the car looked pretty cool too. Unfortunately for him I was in a similar weight car but with an extra 400+ HP. My 2018 Porsche GT2 RS

My brother had a late 70s--early 80s civic hatch. It only had 2nd and 4th gear sometimes 5th. We drove the crap out of that thing and it never let us down!

Hi Sarah, great car review as usual, In France the 2023 Civic Type R is more powerful: 329 hp at 6,500 rpm and up to 420 Nm from 2,200 to 4,000 rpm, but very expensive € 55,000. This corresponds to the switch to the dynamometer made by Honda. Why is it less powerful in the US? Another story of standard to annoy sports car enthusiasts. Fortunately, the power of Honda engines is still higher than what is advertised.

Hmm, I saved money by buying an accord 2.0 and flashed a tune and did some suspension work...got almost the same thing on the street (maybe not on the track) for a lot less than the 25k mark up.
