@@LearnAboutFlow Mercedes or other german cars fall apart after the warranty because many people that buy these cars can't really afford the proper maintenance. I guess this is the price to pay for making desirable cars. Also, german cars push the limits of technology, Japanese manufacturers are more conservative. They like to not push engines at their limits or use newer tech.

Depends on the size of the hail grains. I've got an old GLK with a glass roof (not my choice but the previous owner ordered it with that) and i've been in at least 2 hail storms in the last 3 years that were severe enough to give me several little dents in the hood and the little area of the roof where there is no glass, but the glass itself is ok. Just one thing: if you are in the car when it hails, the noise of hail hitting the glass to me seems way louder than it hitting the metal roof. (may be due to the insulation of the headliner)

@@ArbitraryFilmings Ehhh fair, but when you're getting the bespoke bodywork as well and a lot of these goodies, it's fairly exclusive. Of course they are making a higher profit margin than Honda on a Civic, that's what luxury companies do. I'd bet their margin on this is lower than on any A-Class though, for example. It's also still a fairly new engine either way that definitely has a lot of money into it and isn't shared with countless cars yet nor other marques.

You are so wrong! I have owned my BMW for nine years and there is no comparison to any other car. After owning this I can never buy anything else but a BMW. @@JimmyMakingitwork Hard to say. They for sure make more profit per unit than on their higher volume cars, but what's the margin percentage wise? Either way, the lower volume cars aren't typically what's propping up these companies. How many of these will they even sell?

Sarah if you wanna nerd out on suspension, Audi S4's and I assume others have two independent arms each with their own ball joint on the bottom AND top of the knuckle. Four arms and four ball joints, to form a double wishbone setup that i guess could be modified for unique geometric characteristics? all I see as a mechanic is a whole bunch of expensive German aluminum to go bad with little real reward over what a typical double wishbone setup offers.
