Both have similar senses of humor to our host here, the apprentice being very uncompromising, detail oriented and succinct in her speech and thought processes, the veteran completely whacky and unabashedly spontaneous. This is my first Toyota! A 1973 Celica ST (Silver w/ Black Vinyl roof) 4-spd. I bought it new when I was stationed at Duluth AFB in MN. Learned to drive that stick shift on the ice & snow covered roads and hills. It was a fun, peppy little bugger. People made fun of my ST but I think they were secretly jealous. Then I moved to AZ and traded it for a 1977 Ford LTD II with air conditioning! Really enjoy watching your progress. Amazed at your quality and skills. Cannot imagine how much peppier your ST will be on those Tucson dry roads. This video series warms my heart and brings back so many great memories. Thanks!

To repair old or new plastics I use baking soda and thin super glue. Just the other day a plastic drain plug on my compressor snapped off at the threads. I cleaned the two halves. Dipped the broken ends in baking soda. Pressed them together and applied thin super glue. It's holding great. It's my go to technique for repairing plastics and even carbon fiber mounting lugs. Try it on some scrap pieces and you'll see!

I love taking old stuff and making it look new again, but I don't have near the patience that you have... or that one HAS to have to achieve these results. I still think you should look into that portable A/C (run off a battery/inverter thing) like Ambition Strikes uses in their Army truck. I just can't imagine being near Tucson and NOT having A/C.
