I came across your video this morning, and "Mom of 5" caught my attention. My mom was a mom of 5 as well. She passed away 4 years ago, and I miss her so much. She was a homemaker for part of her life. She cooked homemade meals for our family. I am grateful for all that she did for us. God bless you and your family. I have been going back and watching your older video. I have been enjoying the videos. I am a mom of 1. I was blessed with my daughter after 16 years of marriage. I enjoy cooking for my family and taking care of them.

I am so glad your children are helping you clean. It does my heart good to see responsible children. I don't own a robe at all, so for me, I like to get dressed in my normal clothes to start my day. I usually make my bed, get dressed, and go to the bathroom. Cute video!

Took your suggestion to turn the brownie recipe into muffins. Substituted the butter for avocado oil and put everything in the mixer without melting down the chocolate chips. Turned out great. Kids requested I add them to my regular baking rotation!

As a former homeschool student and a qualified elementary teacher (I say it like that because I’m not currently teaching but I do have classroom experience and a license), homeschool parents don’t have to do as much active teaching especially in the early years because A LOT of what a teacher does in a classroom is trying to manage multiple kids and teach something multiple ways every time so all the kids get it. It’s a different kind of learning with different demands, but homeschool parents can get a child set up for a lesson and then do a task or teach it while doing something else, my mom often did spelling lessons with us while she cooked or something like that!

How do you keep your cast iron from rusting? I oiled mine really well and don’t keep it in water too long but it rusted a little and now I’m afraid to use it. Anybody has tips?

You need to dry it off as soon as you wash it, don’t wash it with soap, just a soap free sponge if you have to scrub food residue off. Once it’s towel dried, put it on your stove on medium heat until it feels warm when you hover your hand above it. Then add a little bit of oil and spread it thinly over the surface of the pan with a paper towel. The oil shouldn’t be pooled on the surface just a nice shine to the pan. That’s what I do with mine and I’ve never had trouble with rust.
