This was very entertaining and informative for an amateur like myself. I learned not to practice with mutes. Also, I am very hesitant to practice as most people are now home during the days and I live in an attached condo. I learned that you can practice in your clothes closet, which I did today for the first time in my life. It was great! Thanks.

What a line up of top talented trumpet players! Regarding the topic of practice mutes, these mutes can damage your embouchure if used excessively. I have found that practice mutes can have a lot of back pressure resistance and after playing them you find that you need to recalibrate your embouchure which can take a period of time. Best practice mute I have found with hardly any back pressure is the Divitt mute. Highly recommended.
