I remember seeing this episode when I was younger and while I thought it was funny, I couldn't help but feel for Trumpy. I don't know why. Oh, and I cried hard at the ending, and the "Clown in the Sky" song at the end of this episode didn't help at all. I felt so bad for Trumpy. I'm older now, and this episode makes me laugh even more than it used to. I don't cry anymore over it, but I still feel for Trumpy. I don't know, maybe I have a thing for movie monsters. Oh well, at least he survived...but then again, so did the "It stinks!" guy!

This is the first episode that was scripted. Up to this point, every film was riffed on the fly. Pod People represented a new direction for the show and the laughs were pretty solid in this one thanks to the guys taking their time to craft the best riffs. I still say it's probably my favorite episode.

Superunknown No, only the KTMA episodes were riffs on the fly. Once they got picked up by the Comedy channel, they started scripting the riffs. They’d already done two full seasons of scripted riffs and then done by the time this episode aired.
