YES ABOUT THE DISPLAY TABLETS. i bought one and ended up not using it because i simply couldn't get the colors right and it messed with my workflow. I'm left handed too and it was such a hassle trying to flip it but it still didn't work :(

So glad I stumbled on your review! I'm a storyboard artist and have been drawing on an iPad / display tablet for the past few years. I adjusted to the display tablet workflow, but always felt a bit uncomfortable with it, and find it clunky and harder to get into a flow. I've wanted to go back to a regular tablet for a long time but wasn't aware that they were even still making regular old-school style tablets of this quality! I just kind of figured the technology had moved on, and most of my colleagues have display cintiq's. So it's really cool to find an artist who shares similar preferences to me! The points you brought up about color and workflow just reminded me how much I preferred the old method of things (maybe it's just cause that's how I learned? I also prefer seeing the cursor on screen without my pen nib getting in the way. Just feels like I can draw much more accurately when I can see exactly where my marks are going!). I just ordered one of these tablets. Excited to try it out and hopefully reconnect with the joy of illustration again!

About display tablets, they have colour and contrast and brightness settings that you can set on the physical device separate from your computer, I had a similar problem with not getting my colors right until i discovered that i could change it

amazing how far we’ve come with tablet technology and options since I first started watching your videos in 2016. all the pens are battery free? wireless capability? we’re not discussing how much lag is acceptable in digital painting? huion and xp pen really changed the game.

Ahh I love your outfit so much in this video! 💕 I remember when you drew original characters while testing out various drawing tablets - would you consider revisiting your thoughts on character design?

This is my go to as well, eye balling the Huion Giano that they recently released. The angled micro USB port in the WH1409 v2 is so annoying to connect and the glossed left side is a finger print magnet 🥲

im honestly so happy with this video 🥺🥺 as if I couldn't admire you more than I already do 💖👄💖 It's refreshing to see one of my fav mainstream artists use a huion drawing tablet and make sound opinions ab it. I've been thinking ab whether I should buy a graphics tablet when I have enough money but I'm happy you pointed out the screen thing. Also, love the huion hype! esp the pen! huion's pens are so underrated like, my fav part in my creative process is literally just holding the pen xD idk it feels so professional and I'm just so in love with the rubber grip. the painting is beautiful too 😍 😍 😍 your art never fails to make me feel better 🥺🥺 always an instant serotonin boost 💖💖💖

My pen that I use for my tablet is kinda annoying cause it uses AAAA batteries that aren’t easy to find and I gotta get them online, I don’t use it that often so the battery lasts a really long time, but still, right now I’m a beginner when it comes to digital art, and I use my laptop, so if I get serious with it I definitely gotta change my whole setup. Thanks for this video!

I recommend wacom intuos CTL. Affordable, light, feels nice to use

This isn’t necessarily a suggestion, but if you open up 9v batteries they contain 8x AAAA Batteries. Kind of nifty!

Wonderful artwork, I was surprised you did not go on more about the tablet. I have used a ModBook for my digital drawing and on my MacPro computer an older Bamboo tablet from Wacom. A ModBook is a Wacom display grafted on top of a Macbook (The white one) It was very expensive as Wacom's tend to be. but it was computer and tablet all in one. These came out before the iPad made a real dent in the digital art market. I feel that the iPad is still lagging behind in resolution speaking, but I have not tried the new "pro" version of the iPad. I do not believe that Photoshop is available on the iPad and that is the one program I used most often! I have almost stopped my digital art creation for traditional painting, mostly watercolors. I have a nice set of the Beats Solo Pro headphones they are quite expensive. I did find the first series on clearance and got my pair for $199.00 not $299.00~ I do not care for buds, any brand I have tried just feel wrong and I do not want to waste money when I have a great pair for over my head. I use them most when watching TV and my wife is sleeping and I do not want to bother her sleep! Even if she is napping in the living room, When I notice her asleep I put the headphones on and she rests peacefully. Keep going and keep creating Art and videos!

my first experience using pen tablet was like 5 years ago and upgraded my pen tablet to display tablet like 2 years ago and at first it was like "WOW amazing!! i could draw directly on the display yadayadayda!!" i even go for the ipads , but yeah i ended up rarely use my ipad probably like once a week cuz i mostly sit in front of my display tablet for all the drawing thingy ,,,, and i think i'll be using pen tablet somewhere in the future to save ma neck and back 🤣

I've never had any problems with huions tablets, the only reason my current on isnt a huion is the price at the current size was too much

There's a video you used to have up that you hid or deleted where you painted a dream you had and used stock photos for reference for butterflies in it. Could you possibly be able to tell me what music you used in it? I can't remember what it was but it's stuck in my head :( it was some kind of emotional piano music and it's not in any playlists of yours
@ayabeevt2 жыл бұрын
Also I would join the patreon if any hidden videos (well I'm not sure if they were private or deleted for personal reasons or anything if so feel free to ignore this) were available there because I miss some of those older videos

Unfortunately this tablet is let down by the drivers for Linux.
@joseph-montanez2 жыл бұрын
I have the same tablet, and use it for every platform. I have always dislike Huion not providing Linux drivers, except they recently have released beta drivers for Ubuntu. It works great for me, maybe give it a try?
@rob_pic2 жыл бұрын
@@joseph-montanez I'll be honest this tablet has been in its box for over a year, maybe it is time to get it out again and look into the driver situation. Thanks for the heads up.
