Sarawak will continue to recognise UEC, says Abang Johari

Sarawak Premier Abang Johari Openg said the state will continue with its decision to recognise the Unified Examination Certificate (UEC).
Abang Johari said that the exam is recognized by universities abroad and would be beneficial to the state and its people.
He said this in his speech at the 10th Malaysia Independent Chinese Secondary Schools Ball Games Championship 2023 at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) yesterday.

Sarawak own university and college do accept student with UEC certificate, even international university in Sarawak and around the world accept UEC certificate, infact Sarawak government provide scholarship through yayasan Sarawak to UEC certificate holders to pursue their education in high learning institution be it in Sarawak or overseas,UEC certificate holders also can apply any job that suits them in Sarawak government...all and all,no problem or obstacles for UEC certificate holders in Sarawak to pursue their dream.

Sarawak juga merupakan Bahasa inggeris sebagai salah satu bahasa rasmi kedua Sarawak selepas BM, kami juga ada autonomi imigrasi yang mana orang yang berasal dari luar Sarawak yang ingin melawat Sarawak MESTI menggunakan passport atau IC untuk masuk ke dalam Sarawak.

Perlembagaan Malaysia tidak pernah mengiktiraf Sabah dan Sarawak sebagai "rakan perkongsian" dalam Malaysia tetapi sebagai negeri setaraf dengan negeri2 Semenanjung, perbezaan Sabah Sarawak hanyalah dalam soal imigresen, agama dan bahasa sahaja tetapi selain daripada itu, Sabah dan Sarawak adalah negeri dalam Malaysia sama macam Kelantan, Kedah, Perlis, Terengganu, Selangor, Johor, Pahang, Melaka Pulau Pinang dan Negeri Sembilan.

Tak perlu UEC, cuma satu aliran je, dlm sekolah satu aliran pon belajar byk bahasa... UEC silibus dr taiwan, bkn dari Malaysia. Saya tak sokong abg jo. Kita Malaysia, tak perlu nak ambil silibus dari negara lain. Satu aliran, dlm tu ada byk bahasa boleh belajar.
