On a side note anyone note the easter egg Doc Samson/Saraya greeting after the match? It was the right finish as you need all boats to rise and she is the new shiny boat on the scene, but DMD never got the full lockjaw locked in and it took 3 of Sarayas finishers to beat her. I also like that she is self aware that there is a lot of talent in AEW womans division, maybe it isn't up to WWE yet, but that doesn't mean it couldnt' be one day and maybe she is walking back some of the things she said in past promos.

You can see right when Saraya comes in that AEW is not a serious wrestling business. It's a billionaire's son, his friends and their small group of fans having fun in their playground. You should definitely like and respect your boss and have a good, business and professional relationship, but giving them a hug is a bit unprofessional. The AEW marks won't get that, but it is what it is. Ted Turner's WCW lasted over 10 years because he knew he wasn't a wrestling promoter or booker. He was an owner. He hired some very questionable people to run WCW, but at least he knew his strengths and weaknesses. Tony Khan is a wrestling fan, not a booker. Just because you're a fan of something doesn't qualify you to have a hands on approach in a business like this. And all Tony has done is push his friends before what's best for business. That obviously works for the core marks, but it's also why AEW has pretty much flatlined at best in the TV ratings and buy rates. He's got Chris Jericho, 50 something guy who still wants to be a main eventer, and really no one of significance for MJF to work with. Max basically has to pick his opponents and try to get them over as babyfaces so that he can still get heat. But when these marks are cheering for everyone, babyface and heel, it's an almost impossible undertaking. AEW is neither All Elite nor Wrestling. It's Spoiled Kids in a Playground playing with a billionaire's money. I had a lot of hope for the company, but where WWE fans cheer for nothing, AEW fans cheer for everything...until they're exhausted by the end of a 2 or 3 hour show and are basically dead by the main event. Again, Tony Khan is not a wrestling booker. He should have gone with the Ted Turner approach. Dustin Runnels and Jeff Jarrett are more qualified to be head booker.

Considering how PW environment is, Tony doesn't fit in because is a cool dude, that cares for this workers. He's not pure white snow, but he's a great guy. The hates he receives is because he puts a promotion that disputes part of the "cake" that WWE has monopolized for years, that's it. AEW has a superstar and a great PW in Saraya. Super happy for her, the rust will go off having more matches.
