In England they’ve reintroduced beavers to some domestic rivers to help alleviate the flooding downriver. Landowners are not always happy, but folks downriver benefit of these beaver-made ponds and marshes as flash floods wouldn’t be so dangerous or not happen at all.

Let's assume beavers are the 1-2ft buck teethed aquatic mammals who make dams with their family nests in them. Then "beaver dams" might be limited to what sort of height? I'm guessing they are not responsible for the hoover dam or similar?. So "floods" limited by beaver dams might have some sort of a specificity and limitation, no?. Please don't think I am in any way arguing agin the virtues of nature's beasts in anyway. I just want the argument to be substantial.
