Rewatching this in 2020 because: we are currently in covid-hell graduations have been post-poned/cancelled but my master's thesis project is still (virtually) due :'( There is definitely a difference between UK and US systems but I'm very grateful to have your video as inspiration, this will all be over soon

Heyy, I'm also studying Roxana at the moment and need help with converting the 18th century money to modern-day money 😩. Do you have any tips???
@sarcastic_fish4 жыл бұрын
YES I ACTUALLY WROTE ON THIS!! use a historical money calculator!!! they're the best, you might have to then adjust it for inflation to get a 2020 value, her fortune by the end is like £22mil, dont quote me on that but it's such a useful thing to have bookmarked!!

How do you get the blue background when writing ? Is this on word ?
@sarcastic_fish4 жыл бұрын
Yeah, on word go to page layout and there’s a button to change the background colour and then pick whatever suits your eyes best

Wait, you don't send the finished dissertation to the printers and get it bound and hand in a hard copy? Saves on a shit load of paper and printers I guess, which isn't a bad thing.
@sarcastic_fish5 жыл бұрын
Yeah for our department it’s not a requirement, I printed mine off because I wanted a physical copy, but i don’t get why some people need to physically hand it in, sometimes even two copies?? 🤷🏻♀️
@lisacs835 жыл бұрын
@@sarcastic_fish Yeah, I've seen that. I always thought it was one for marking, one for storage at the uni (for future students to browse idk?). I know some departments insist on everyone using the exact same font, font size, line spacing, specific style of appendix, even the front page has to be uniform and like, formal? With the uni crest/logo and all that. Very prescriptive. Mate, if I wrote a 10,000 word dissertation I was super proud of, I'd get that shit made into a hardback book with gold lettering and sexy, high quality paper. Something to show the grandkids.... "Come see what your Nana wrote when she was young and pretty..."
