This is the most realistic book declutter I've ever seen. Everyone else is always like oh I read this and I loved it but it's time to move on! And I'm like what do you mean you loved it and you're getting rid of it. Your mom is like no don't take my books I love them.

Oh my, I love those Italian books! I learned Italian as a second language and I can never find good literature where I live (town of population 4,000 ahahaha) unless it is online! I'll have to look into some of those titles!! And your camaraderie together is so sweet, it's a pleasure to watch!! I hope my library can be as big as yours one day hahaha :-)

The number of times I went back to laugh at: "Aren't people going to be completely, terribly bored, Emma?" "WHAT!... uh, no. These are fucking nerds, mom." "Ah, okay." I knew it was coming because of the opening, but the full context of you reassuring her this is what we're here for is hilarious! Also, not me with my book wishlist open adding your mom's recommendations! okay but I'm truly confused by you saying you were too old when you got the Sookie Stackhouse series because those are the books that the show True Blood is based on...? and I haven't read the books so maybe they read like mediocre fantasy romance but the show is so known for its overt sexiness.

When my wife and I bought our house 3 years ago, we chose the house in part because it has a very large open finished walk-out basement that we planned to transform into a library to hold the 10,000+ books we have. However, due to the pandemic, we were unable/unwilling to bring carpenters into our home to do the work necessary to transform the space, and the books have all been languishing in waist-high stacks in the guest bedroom down there. Every time I go downstairs, my heart sinks. At this point, I have no idea when the library will be built.

With how embarrassed your mum was about her bookcase she doesn’t want anyone to see, I thought it would end up being a collection of bodice rippers! 😂 a collection of crime novels really isn’t something to be ashamed of 📚
