SARCOPHAGUS - Sci-Fi Short Film

I would like to share with you my latest personal project called - Sarcophagus.
It took me a while to finish this one, because it is my first personal also animated project of this kind, therefore I had to make all the animations, texturing, lighting, compositing etc. by myself.
Whole animation was rendered in Corona renderer and only one single PC was used for this task (Ryzen 5950x,128gb RAM). It took hundreds of hours to render.
Final sound is composed from few different songs but the main theme is from epikton.net.
Software used: 3DS Max, Chaos Corona, Adobe Substance 3D Painter, Quixel megascans, Mixamo, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe After Effects.

I don't. It smacks of lazy writing. No need to have a plot, a backstory or a conclusion. Just play with imagery, then claim it's "all up to the viewers' interpretation", while your story ultimately goes nowhere.

@@DrOneOneOne I guess you miss my point: open questions force you to fill the lacks with your imagination and this is much better than any answers the movie may show. Nowadays, people use to want everything "pret a porter" and this is very bad for the future of the civilization.

"Sarco" - Latin origin, meaning: "flesh." "Phagus" - Latin origin, meaning: eat, eater, eating. So a sarcophagus is an eater of flesh, or the thing that eats flesh.

I think that the thing surrounds a body. So it is surrounded by flesh. Eating is not only ingestion but also growth. So it is a hard material, made from something, stone or wood representing flesh or recovery of the After life. As the body perished, the sarcophagus, is life in the afterlife, flesh which surrounds the body, or home with friends. As a case the body grows and eats food. It can't eat itself, nor was the resurrected a cannibal.

I really like the blended theme of ancient Egypt and extra-terrestrial lifeform. The urns surrounding the sarcophagus give me the vibe of Alien Prometheus. It would be superb if there is a complete story explaining how the astronaut found this place, why he was not fear of approaching the sarcophagus, and the consequence of the contact.

Very good quality animation. Those jars are very much like the (disgusting and scary) life forms in Prometheus. And the floating Sarchopagus/flying machine is like of the Stargate. But, great work, as if the machine was waiting for him to arrive to be activated.

It's like Stargate meets Species meets Aliens. The design of the Sarcophagus reminds me of the alien's face from Species, the Canopic randomly arranged on the floor reminded me of the Facehugger eggs from Aliens. Egypt in space theme obviously reminds us of Stargate.

It has been 2,000 years since God spoke to people in person. This is the most terrible period of time. For 2,000 years there are no apostles, no prophets, no preachers whom God called, no believers freed from sins and false teachings. As it is written, "God looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, that did seek God. Every one of them is gone back: they are altogether become filthy; there is none that doeth good, no, not one." (Psalm 53:2-3). Jesus said: "I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work" (John 9:4). It is the longest night when no one can do miracles and God does not speak to anyone live. But God's silence will not be endless, for it is written: "I have long time holden my peace; I have been still, and refrained myself: now will I cry like a travailing woman; I will destroy and devour at once.I will make waste mountains and hills, and dry up all their herbs; and I will make the rivers islands, and I will dry up the pools. And I will bring the blind by a way that they knew not; I will lead them in paths that they have not known: I will make darkness light before them, and crooked things straight. These things will I do unto them, and not forsake them." (Isaiah 42:14-16). God will speak His word alive again, and the church of Christ will be raised up in the last days. As it is written, "And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars:" (Rev 12:1).
