The concept of an alien race being overtaken by it's own AI creation is really interesting. A lot of films reference these ideas but rarely explore them or show you these types of confrontations which just fascinate me. doesn't even have to be a movie. just more in general would be good. think about this.. the short is like having an appetizer at a diner. you want the main course now that your appetite's been wetted. Or if your a gamer, consider this short as a DEMO. it shows the proof of concept and the art and the story direction. from there you (or a publisher/production company that wants to make this into something more) can tell if you want more or less. The fact it starts in the middle of a conflict and ends with a cliff hanger proves it can be longer. and since it peaked curiousity people want to know more about it.. plus the alien design is just wicked cool.. the machine life form could use some work though.

Probably very very few times. Chances of life forms developing such advanced tech, chances of them being able to interact with others even over such massive differences as you’d expect to occur, and then the creation of a war and extinction? Low. If we were to find an alien species we would likely try and learn from them, I expect others would do the same.

These futuristic short films are mind-blowing. They're unnerving how realistic and smoothly rendered they are. Can you imagine what kind of filmic creations we'll be looking at in in 15 years? Actors, composers, directors, set designers, all will be obsolete. The film studios, composers, the unions, the agents, all of Hollywood will be obsolete. We won't need them if somebody sitting at an apple computer can turn out product like this. It's coming.

Actually because of money, interest, and the general populace wouldn't know what to rally with when it comes to "new". Just because it is new doesn't mean it has a identity or that it is any good. This is "generic", now if it had a ideal banner to rally behind like say "warhammer 40k"---- It would be recognizable. This would be interesting to have in that universe because of it's take on Abominable Intelligence's "A I", This being an example of aliens creating such unlike the Human side which is often depicted. Think well, think solidly

Martin Solomon.... Leia, Luke and Han fight to escape from the Death Star. Only to find out they were let go on purpose so they could be tracked to the rebel base. Leia suspected as much but Han didn't believe her. HOWEVER, nobody has ever had a story where machines turn on their creators before. Oh wait, yes they have.
