DUST

R’Ha, directed by Kaleb Lechowski, is a fight for survival in a solar system where no one can be trusted. A civil war started by subversives they could have never seen coming. A group of fighters, relentless in their quest to protect their planets will do everything in their power to emerge the victorious underdog against an enemy that appears to always be two steps ahead.
This short leaves you on edge as the future of the guardians of space grows dim in the afterburner of the spacecraft that may lead their enemy right to them. The subtle ending shows a scene so seemingly benign it’ll hit you even harder when you realize the implications of it.

the movie i am talking about could also be from the 90's cause at the time CGI was at its begining and the God R'ha did look like CGI . But it wasn,t completly CGI since the human actors were real ones .I would really want to see it again if ever you find it . nothing very special about the plot though but . but the movie was well made and will not decieve you i promise even if the plot is not really creative. He is right and wrong at the same time. You can't simply create a whole new thing if you were born in the information age, but you can surely twist and mutate it to some extent, leaving a mostly different and polished creation behind, of course this can't always be the case either. There are many things to be discovered, maybe billions to be created, our brains are the most potent sandbox that ever existed.

doesn't even have to be a movie. just more in general would be good. think about this.. the short is like having an appetizer at a diner. you want the main course now that your appetite's been wetted. Or if your a gamer, consider this short as a DEMO. it shows the proof of concept and the art and the story direction. from there you (or a publisher/production company that wants to make this into something more) can tell if you want more or less. The fact it starts in the middle of a conflict and ends with a cliff hanger proves it can be longer. and since it peaked curiousity people want to know more about it.. plus the alien design is just wicked cool.. the machine life form could use some work though.

The concept of an alien race being overtaken by it's own AI creation is really interesting. A lot of films reference these ideas but rarely explore them or show you these types of confrontations which just fascinate me. Pop culture normally fixates on average human intelligence vs AI ... not aliens. It's like 2 super intelligences locked in battle. What I would give to see how this story played out. I also luv the alien design. Great work!

Probably very very few times. Chances of life forms developing such advanced tech, chances of them being able to interact with others even over such massive differences as you’d expect to occur, and then the creation of a war and extinction? Low. If we were to find an alien species we would likely try and learn from them, I expect others would do the same.

Actually because of money, interest, and the general populace wouldn't know what to rally with when it comes to "new". Just because it is new doesn't mean it has a identity or that it is any good. This is "generic", now if it had a ideal banner to rally behind like say "warhammer 40k"---- It would be recognizable. This would be interesting to have in that universe because of it's take on Abominable Intelligence's "A I", This being an example of aliens creating such unlike the Human side which is often depicted. Think well, think solidly

As far as I remember, this is the first short film that I have seen. And it is as much my favorite today as it was when I first saw it.

OMG the closed captioning is SO off time as to be pointless. Way to go people!
