I've watched so many of yours, Abbie, but this video is EVERYTHING! Not because it's the longest trail or because it has spectacular views, or ancient sites, but because you said it all...these walks, hikes, climbs are a partnership with yourself. This IS self-care and every step is proof that you (meaning we) can master ourselves. I love you for all that you do! Thank you.

I was sitting on the sofa this morning in a world of pain from arthritis in my spine. I am a big fan of yours Abbie and this is one of my favourite vlogs you've done. The scenery, the ancient landscape and archaeology is all wonderful and so is the fact you push yourself through your pain and achieve a great day in your life by doing this. You are an inspiration! Thank you. x

Congratulations Abbie. A job well done. Set yourself a target, meet, then exceed that target. You ticked all the boxes. Great awe-inspiring film. Very proud of you. If you want something that badly then you will have to do more than usual to get it. You did just that.

Well done Abbie, I hope this adds the to the removal removal of the black hole, the White hole being your achievements, 1st I used to deliver fertilizer to Avebury & used to walk down to the Red Lion for food (only pub in a stone circle}, 2nd during the 1980's I was attached to REME (army) from the RCT to recover a tank transporter (complete with tank hull) from your grave yard to Brecon Beacon, top speed of my recovery truck 33mph!! When we arrived at Brecon we parked over night, on what turned out to be the parade ground & sunk overnight into the tarmac, much to the displeasure of the camps Sargent Major! I hope each adventure add peace t your mind.

Abbie, I so enjoy your videos, and LOVE your infectious smile 😀!! I too suffer with mental illness, Depression to be exact. Thank you for showing there are ways to combat this. Sometimes on your own, and sometimes with the help of others. Keep it up, you’re doing great!!

A stonking great effort Abbie. Like you say, a real test of character, physicality and the mind. Getting out is the antidote and you are a wonderful advocate of that. I love Avebury and the magical Wiltshire countryside. A wonderful walk for an equally wonderful cause. Very well done :)

I can see you transform on this walk. Initially at the beginning of the walk you looked unwell. I was concerned but all of a sudden you got color in your face and a whole different look. I understand where you are coming from. How mental, emotional and spiritual illness can affect us physically. But pushing past it can change us holistically. Thank you Abbie. You are an inspiration to many!

I sure was tired starting. The day before I was pretty sure I wasn't going to be able to get there to do the walk, but as usual, something pushes me on! Before I know it, I'm flying! Thanks for watching and the comment. Stay WILD!

Another great vid Abbie Only just discovered you but you've inspired me to get back into walking and camping after a ten year break. As a wrinkly I may have to take things easy but better doing this than watching the goggle box like many retired people do. Short cut to a wooden overcoat mate. Happy trails

You mention being outside is a "weird, round-about way of taking care of me..." NOT weird, not round-about at all, direct, beautiful, healthy, brave, purposeful and very caring not only of self but others and the environment. I'm a hiker in the western US who has done bits of the Pacific Crest Trail and other hikes across the Pacific Northwest (states of Oregon, Washington and Montana), I get it and you're so right on. My boyfriend and I are planning to come over to England in a year or so and do a walk. I'm inspired by you..WALK ON SISTAH! :

🇺🇸 amazing walk. The rapeseed fields always make me feel somewhat envious. My landscape is semi tropical which is beautiful but it is my normal. 26 miles is a long way to walk with the injuries that you have. Great video and as always, you are upbeat throughout.

I understand what you mean about having only to put one foot in front of the other. My work is often stressful and life as an old single guy has its anxieties and day after day run by and can often be mundane. If I cycle, I move myself from one day place to the next. When I hike my only task is to walk from one point to another. I love having my life super simplified. Everything one my back and my job for the day is to walk. That looks like a great event they have in Wiltshire. Glad you enjoyed it. Love your country.

Well done on the walk (OK I'm a bit late to the party) and it was great to see the standing stones. You'll have to come and walk the stone circles around Callanish on the Isle of Lewis some day - some are well known but there are also lots of less well known and more remote ones plus there are other interesting things to see on the moor plus you can walk for years and not bump into another person. Perfect for the fan of prehistory, moorland, and a little bit of solitude.

Very well done, Abbie and I think you did well to consistently film so much of it as well. :-) I've only done the Stonehenge Stomp (20 miles) in Wiltshire, completed the Mendip Challenge (30 miles) two weeks ago and would also recommend the Stroud Five Valleys (21 miles) and Circuit of Bath (20 miles) walks, although they're usually both on the same day. I attempted The Ridgeway last week... Got as far as Uffington before coming home on day two, having hurt myself carrying too much weight. :-/ A number of people I met were doing a Ridge Walk challenge... 52 miles in 24 hours!! :-o There are many opportunities out there. ;-)
@AbbieBarnesWILD6 жыл бұрын
They sounds like cool routes, I'll have to check them out! Sorry to hear about the Ridgeway. Thankfully the trail isn't going anywhere so theres time to try again! The Ridge Walk Challenge is ace - would like to give it a shot some time!
