Amen. Historical context serves an important purpose but that purpose ought to be entirely dedicated to The Path and your own direct experience of "Divinity" in whatever way feels natural, healthy and fufilling to you. This book is interesting however research since its writing has made many claims in it dubious at best (the centality of Orange as a sort of "leader of all Masonry" in particular). All the same learning about this peculiar perspective is worth reflecting on. A man here writes his personal Path and interpretation of his experience on the Path during an interesting time in history. I'm glad to have found it.

This is a really great book! I've read quite a few Masonic books over the past few years, and this one seems to stick rather well.
