Ahh cool, read about Rusty for years and he was in it all from Battle of Oman to the Embassy! I'm gonna enjoy this! He watched the bravery of Tak as he ran to Laba in Oman who was manning a 4-6 man howitzer 88 I think it was but the outstanding thing was he was manning it ALONE until caught in neck by a 7.62 round and that's when his Fijian brother in arms ran to him to help and they both manned it firing straight not up whilst they're soldiers locked themselves in the arty house NOT the batt house, that's were the SAS were, on the roof! Him n *cough* 'Soldier 1'/Snapper an John Mc, Mike Kealy, Bob etc...SAS legends right from the lines of Sterling and THAT was a proper Rourke's drift! *Leave the video on lads even if you not interested but wanna support Billy you can turn volume off and open another you tube window but leave this running as click-throughs do no good, worse than not liking or subbing and for me, well I wanna see more guests like Rusty. Video is on it's way to 2000 views right now and only 60 odd likes wtf? You must like it to be watching it* Your brother sounds like my Dad Bill, he was called for an incursion at about the Korea time and went missing for years then surfaced in the BAOR (British Army On the Rhine) hosi with what we as kids called his 'spider' as the wound looked like one! Rusty has balls of steel Bill, near got burnt in the Embassy window, maybe he will talk about that but I'll shut up and watch, what a guest instead of tit for tat drama shit. BTW a group of Spetnaz were interviewed and said they were fearless then started whispering to each other and then said to interviewer, 'Well we would have 1 concern', what would that be, they were asked and replied 'If we knew the British SAS were on our asses'. Thank you for your Service Rusty and Billy great podcast, really enjoyed it.

@@SnakePliskin762 Actually did an SAS selection course in the 1980s, was not as tough as I expected, it was hard though, I actually enjoyed the course; working with SAS Cadre staff of whom none has personality issues and absolutely did not yell at or belittle any of the rangers (temporary rank for all of us who took part, regardless of their existing rank). I learned a lot on that selection course. Such as a tactical river crossing which was done naked except for runners on the feet. I was the first across so had to stand naked on guard with my L1A1 SLR til the stick had completed the crossing and took over guarding the stick.

When John Mac blew in the balcony, he got a hell of a fright lol! Couldn't enter at ground level as windows were bulletproof, so he put alot of charge on that window frame thing, then boom it blew the shit out of everything! "Craiginches" I'm sure they went into the loft, one con tried to sue as he got hit in chest by a stun grenade. Peterhead? No I'm positive. The screw the two cons had hostage had him with a noose around his neck, tied to top landing banister, as plenty of notice, as one door into hall same door to leave by. They walked him on all fours and said to him "You want to act like a dog, we'll treat you like one, had to cock his leg to piss, oh they had their fun with Jackie Stewart. Prison now is a piss take. The SAS said "you're going for a wee trip son", and threw them from loft onto landing! That's the bad bit if you ask me. "Don't screw the nut, nut the screw" Then there's the unsung hero called "Back Door Bob" So at exact same time Mac blew the balcony, Bob blew the back door. Yes Macs boys dead, and now his father is too, shame. Belter of a tash right enough RIP MAC! His boy was going to follow in his father's footsteps, and would've got in. My ex Brother in Law, he was SBS, he bloody strangled me for laughing when he said he was fired out of Torpedo Tubes, I believe him now, and he was in SBS for a good few year's built like a Tank a Chieftan not your little Sherman. He could probably lift one lol! He told me stuff and if he's not allowed to tell, well I'm not going to say anything, except that he was in hides on beaches watching the Argies. Balls of steel. The French came under heavy pressure from the British to see how many Excocet missiles they sold to Argentina. The told. 8 or something. Very dangerous missiles, low flying, just look at "The Sheffield" My Brother in Law's still to grow up! Drives SAAB and big Harley Davidson, and would "whoop whoop" and wheelspin out the street! Bloody hell if anyone I would want behind my back, it'd be him. Body Builder! Can't name him, as he's online posing, and he's 5"4 all round! I know a few EX SAS. Few were shot, chased in cars, bait cars, SAS popping out boot to fire behind, all wiped out, then in comes the proverbial "soldier killed on excercise in Germany" They'd never give Provo's credit. Dessert boots, big divers watch, SAS training on night of rare R'n R. "The one that got away?" Chris Ryan, he got away. Shit they've just told us! I already knew. I know a guy that was dropped behind enemy lines, him and 14 others, in Iraq! Great wee guy, turned to drug's and I imagine he ended up doing this as he wasn't getting the rush in Street life. Brilliant wee guy from Drumchapel in Glasgow. Extremely dangerous. I'm off.

Hi Billy, I’m a big fan of your podcast mate but tbh you’ve done a real disservice to Rusty on this podcast imo. It’s obvious that you don’t know anything or very little about his career and especially the Iranian embassy siege which he is famous for as well as other basic knowledge of the SAS or army. To have a guest on of this type and not know about the basics of even the Falklands or the embassy siege is a poor show mate. This shows your lack of preparation of sourcing good information on an upcoming guest (which you usually say that you don’t do) but made this one so frustrating and you could have had a really good podcast with being able to talk about his illustrious career Only my opinion Billy lad and I watch all of your podcasts and some constructive criticism 👍🏻
