Yep, the first time I saw Sasha play live was 23 years ago, the last time probably 10 years ago when I finished with clubbing, but still appreciate great melodic house music done well. There are only a handful of guys in the world with the full house of abilities behind the decks, he's one. Also Alex has stayed relevant by constantly adapting his sound, unlike all his peers from the 90s, who are now stuck playing piano house classics at throwback events for a dozen people who need to get home for the babysitter. Imagine working at Mixmag btw, hundred pages of fashion adverts and generic reviews cobbled together on the fly and then straight on the sauce, journos dream job!

I'm 24 and I've been getting really into classic Sasha and, generally, prog house of the 90s. Do wish I could have gone to one of those legendary all-night sets at Renaissance in Mansfield. I didn't start out being into the classic stuff. I was getting really into prog house and trance of today--Shingo Nakamura, stuff from Anjunadeep, etc. But I'm the type who always wants to know the roots of my music, and I found myself drawn back into the past, to the foundation of the progressive house sound from the 90s. Discovering Sasha was inevitable from that exploration because he's a legend. Synonymous with that movement, he's omnipresent in any online mention of that time, place, and style of music. He's revered. Mixmag called him "the son of God." I wish I could find a high-quality recording of one of his sets from back in the day, but those seem to be lost to time. At least we have Renaissance: the Mix Collection and the Global Underground CDs--and judging by this video, he hasn't remotely lost his touch.

I’ve listened to ‘The Man’ since the nineties, watched him at Space Ibiza alongside Zabiela when he said to me quality eyes due to me looking like a panda, I had got jumped, further on the journey I’ve danced to him at Kelly’s Portrush N.I. and Shine Belfast. All of the above have been legendary sets full of emotion and beats of the time. However, Sasha looks like a teenager again playing his craft and it shows he is enjoying it as much. A set here to give a new audience alongside us stall-warts the feeling that he is here to stay. Keep it up Sasha , you have an ear and a touch unlike few others.

There is only one....he goes by the name Sasha 🔥 I remember reading in Mixmag back at the time he released the first Involver album ...about how he had bought all this equipment for his new studio, like 60k's worth of studio gear and computers... and it was all new, so he first had to learn how to use it all and then made that groundbreaking album that is still pure class today, in my humble opinion.... today he still continues to innovate and deliver pure beat infused symphonies of mind massaging bliss.... legend, unequalled. Thank you Sasha...I had the priveledge of going to Twilo once....I only went to see Sasha and Digweed and watching this, all I can say is what an incredible gift to have experienced this true legend at work 🔥👌 Long may it continue 🙌
