I've had some of this yarn for 2 years but was afraid to use it. Yesterday, my son,of all people, brought me a ball of it he found on sale table and thought I'd like. So I'm going to try it this afternoon. Thank you for such a clear and easy tutorial.

That is such an easier way to crochet those. I've never been able to crochet them the other way. Always had to knit to get them to work. Thanks going to try it.

Thank you so much for the video. I could find the directions for the knit version but I couldn't find any instructions for the crochet which is what a lot of people do. Thank you again, I am busy making my scarf!

oh my goodness I love it , I was afraid to buy this kind of yarn because I wasn't sure how I would make any thing with such hole ie yarn you have showed me that I should not have been afraid to try using it, and making a scarf for spring will be so easy and cute at the same time. love your video's so much.

As always u always have something great to show. I always thought that I would need like three of those things to make 3 scarves. now that I know I can make 2 or 3 that changes everything. My step daughter wears those kind to work, she says they are about 15-18dlls each. I kinda figured that much because they were prob using two balls. Wow now I can see that they (manufacturer) was prob using half a ball. Ive seen it used on skirts too. thanks for sharing, I love it n will be purchasing it soon.

Thanks from aussie, the way you loop onto the hook gives a better ruffle, l've watched a couple of knitting ruffle scarfs but the way they feed the needles makes the ruffle wrap around itsself instead of loops

Thank you once again Emi!!! your amazing video helped so much to figure out how to make these ruffled scarfs. my question is... when you skip a stitch, I think I seen you pick up the next stitch from the front and then seen you pick a stitch from the back? does this make a difference which way the hook goes in? front or back?

That's what I thought as well, until I finally bought some yarn and tried it. The one I made was really ascot style, but using the entire ball would surely be a very long scarf and would probably wrap around the neck 3 or 4 times. But it's really more economical to make these than I originally thought. (And with Michael's 40% off coupons, it would be a great deal!) I bought my ball at the fabric store while I was shopping there, but I usually try to use Michael's coupons for yarn.

I bought some of this yarn about a year ago, but in Oz it's been too hot to do an arm knit scarf, which is what I bought it for! Here in Oz it's called Habana Mesh, & I got it in Big W. When pulled out gently it measures around 2.5 - 3 inches wide. Is that the same as your Sashay Yarn? I have never done crochet before, but watched a few tutes, I'm sure I could do this, watching you as I go.....I am gonna buy a crochet hook when I go shopping next!! You are so inspiring Emi....thanks so much for this, it was like a Eureka moment when I saw this...I almost cried...I thought I had wasted my money! Hectanoogle to the rescue once again....Love..... Sylvia in Sydney x

what size crochet hook are you using? Also are you going front to back on each stitch or doesn't it make a difference. I had difficulty seeing which direction you were going in on all your stitches. In the beginning it looked like you were alternating front to back then back to front. I'm new at this craft so I need lots of help.

If you want to make a long scarf, use the entire ball... for a short ascot style, use about 1/2 of the ball.
