நான் 12 ஆம் வகுப்பு வரை படிக்கும் போது எனக்கு ஐஐடி தெரியாது. எங்களுக்கு சென்னையில் உள்ள ஒரு அரசு தொழில்நுட்ப பல்கலைக்கழகம் மட்டுமே தெரியும். நாங்கள் அப்படி வளர்க்கப்பட்டோம். நாங்கள் அதை மிகச் சிறந்த ஒன்றாகக் நினைத்தோம். நான் அரசு தொழில்நுட்பப் பல்கலைக் கழகத்தில் படிக்கும் போதுதான் IIT Madras எனக்கு அது தெரிந்தது.

Sir, how can our boys think of IIT when we give pass to all from 1st standard to 9th standard irrespective of their performance and attendance. In private schools TN govt allows teaching 10 th standard syllabus in 9 th standard itself. No CEO takes action against private schools for the past 3 decades. In South India ,Tamilnadu is the only state not having entrance exam for engineering, agriculture etc. We are definitely afraid of competition and competitive exams. In private schools they teach 12 th syllabus in 11 th standard. T. N government remains blind to this. Without knowing basic calculus how can a student understand higher level calculus. First we have to correct ourselves before blaming others.

Best solution - Every govt /private college & school should improve their standards to match international competition. When that happens, naturally selective colleges like IIT or IISC won't be given that much importance. Already, most of the talented & successful people from India last decade studied - not from IIT. Myth is broken.

I agree with him despite being a Tamil Brahmin. My relatives attended IIT only by coaching classes from 9th std to 12th Std. So urban middle class family could easily get into coaching classes. In South Korea they tried to provide after-school coaching by govt itself. Still govt could not compete with private coaching. Students do suicide. In china college entrance exam survey still urban has more privelage than rural. China banned coaching. People in South Korea and china don't want to have children due to fear of expensive coaching classes. Even public school are good quality and free. Still this problem. Coaching classes,extra classes should not be encouraged in India. If education becomes distant from most people we can not groe. India needs industrialisation. Small ,small industries to give employment for masses. Weneed to focus on stem and stem ahould be accessible to all.

Why is there talk of Brahmins? There is OBC/SC reservation in all IITs. When an OBC tamilian writes IIT exam, he is competing with OBCs from other states, not against brahmins/ upper castes. Same way, when an SC tamilian takes IIT exam, he is competing with SCs from other states, not with Brahmins/Upper castes. So, what he should be lamenting about is the low standard of education in TN that makes them unable to compete even with other reserved category students from other states!!!

Neet is bad, and it should be removed. Also education standard should be improved in all schools along with syllabus. We have to move forward from reservation and give reservation only for deserving students who are economically & financially backward. These reservation should also be given to private institutions.

Senthil does not understand " Merit"?. It is ranking based on the marks secured in Entrance Examination. It is utter nonsense to say " Agraharam". Reservation has killed competitive spirit among students. There is reservation in Education and Employment. Tax payers' money is enjoyed by the communities coming under reservation. Not only this. After getting job without any competition, they earn ten times their salary by other means. No decency. They talk filthy language.This is the situation.

It really hurts to see people spreading this kind of nonsense. நான் விரிவாக இதை தமிழில் எழுதுகிறேன், அனைவரும் புரிந்துகொள்ள. முதலில் IIT என்றால் என்ன? அது ஒரு கல்வி நிறுவனம், அதில் சேர தேர்ச்சி பெற வேண்டிய தேர்வு தான் JEE Mains + Advanced. நீங்கள் கூறுகிறீர்கள் வந்தே மாதரம், விவேகானந்தா என்று பெயர் வைத்தால் அது அக்ரஹாரம் என்று. இப்படி கூறுவது சரியா? ஒரு கல்வி நிறுவனத்தை அதன் பெயரை கொண்டு நிர்ணகிக்கலமா? அதை விடுங்கள், நீங்கள் கூறுகிறார்களே syllabus ஒரு group ஆல் தேர்ந்தெடுக்க படுவது என்று. நான் state board and CBSE இரண்டு syllabus ம் பார்த்தவன். இரண்டிலும் கிட்டத்தட்ட ஒரே syllabus தான். நான் ஒரு கேள்வி எழுப்புகிறேன்: மின்சாரம் எலக்ட்ரான் ஓட்டதினால் பாய்கிறது என்று நம் அனைவருக்கும் தெரியும். இது எலக்ட்ரான் ஓட்டதினால் பாய்கிறது என்று CBSE இல் உம் நீர் ஓட்டதினால் பாய்கிறது என்று State board இல் படிக்கின்றோமா? State board இல் செய்யும் முதல் தவறு - ஏன்? எதற்கு? எப்படி? என்று கேள்வி எழுப்பி புரிந்து படிக்க தெரிவது இல்லை. Syllabus is same everywhere, only thing is we should understand and go deep inside the portion to understand that topic. Merit இருப்பதினால் "அய்யர் அக்ரஹாரம்" என்று கூறுகிறீர்கள் அல்லவா, IIT இல் reservation காரணமாக எத்தனை "அய்யர்கள்" சேர முடியாமல் வெளி வருகிறார்கள் தெரியுமா??? Reservation இருப்பதினால் தான் (நீங்கள் தாழ்த்தப் பட்டவர்கள் என்று கருத படும் ஆட்கள்) வெகு எளிதில் IIT கு செல்கிறார்கள். நீங்கள் IAS OFFICER, மிகுந்த மதிப்பிற்கு உரியவர். உங்களுக்கு தெரியும் இதற்கு UPSC தேர்வில் தேர்ச்சி பெற வேண்டும் என்று. UPSC ஒரு Central board exam இல்லையா???? அது "அந்த" group மக்களால் செட் செய்ய படுவது இல்லையா??? மாணவர்களே, MIT எப்படி அமெரிக்கா நாட்டில் பெரிய அறிவியல் மற்றும் பொறியியல் கல்லூரியோ, அது போல தான் IIT இந்தியாவில். எந்த கூடதின்மெளும் கல்வி நிறுவனத்தின் மேலும் தேவையற்ற வெறுப்பை வளர்க்க வேண்டாம். படுப்பதை புரிந்து படியுங்கள், நிச்சயம் எந்த தேர்வையும் வெல்லலாம். நாம் இப்படி அதையும் இதையும் பேசிக்கொண்டே இருப்பதால் தான் IIT இல் தமிழர்கள் எண்ணிக்கை குறைவாக இருக்கிறது. நாம் நினைத்தால் எதையும் சாதிக்க முடியும். சிந்தித்து பாருங்கள். வாழ்க தமிழ். வளர்க கல்வி.

I am unable to understand his point of view. IIT is a difficult exam, students across India do clear it and also study in the IIT. There is a wide section of people who join the IIT. What is he opposing, the toughness of the exam , or does he say we should abolish merit and introduce social causes to admit students ?..Disappointed. Your sons daughters can try GRE TOEFL exams. Our sons daughters are not in IIT. We have completely migrated out of India. Why so much of grudge against IIT Madras? It also follows norms like all other IITs in India. It’s a pity that an IAS officer talks so foolishly. How did you pass IAS?

Correct, Merit should be the only thing that decides admissions to IIT and MBBS colleges. Such an entitled fool spewing nonsense and bringing his hatred of Brahmins. He is not even aware of IIT but he feels he has been denied admission there. Mercifully IIT and Medical degrees at many places are still decided on merit not on reservation. If you want to compete with the brightest for IIT and MBBS degrees, first bring yourself up to that level. As long as you rely on reservations and handouts, you will have less chances of getting there.

Because of people like you, Mr. sashi, though I got 99 percentile, I didnt get IIT, but i know people richer than me, got 27 percentile are in IIT. And you still blame brahmins? I moved to the US w/ a friend's help ( a brahmin), and nw working for google. All youngsters r desperately looking to do a Masters abroad, bcos of people like. You guys never respwcr/appreciate talent. You always degrade them, primarily to use your own people for vote banks. Brahmins are settled all over the world, building temples there and continuing their legacy in US & western countries. You guys keep blaming them with Varnashraam ( whch yo dont hv any idea about). Engineering is not science, part of tinkering.IIT is for capital gain, not to chase scientific research. Physics,biology and chemistry are not given much importance.

We have coaching institute in Tamil Nadu every nook and corner. Its up to them to pursue engineering or not. I used the opportunity very well and cleared JEE. I'm an engineer now.

This is not happening only in IIT. Please check in mnc companies. There also happening in worst way. Iam working for the past 21 years in chenai. I have very bitter experience with coworkers who are brahmins. All against human rights.

Senthil an Ias officer is ignorant of the fact his own party man Veerappa Moily introduced Common Entersnce Test both for Medical/ Dental/Engineering/ Agriculture in Karnataka.When the performance of the students in Government schools was poor first thing he did was train the 11& 12 th std teachers by IISC . These teachers showed a marked improvement in teaching and increase in students cracking CET and subsequent enterance into medical and Engineering colleges.
