I think the way you guys are raising Mila is wonderful - you clearly think about her and consider the best ways for her to develop and achieve her fullest potential, and that takes time and selflessness. Not all parents/adults are so dedicated and rather ask the children to accommodate to all their norms/attitudes. I remember you explainin long time ago how you let Mila help you prepare the meals even though it would take longer and things would be messier, but it would give her a sense of pride and importance, and she would be more eager to eat as well :) You should be proud!

I first discovered you when my almost 7 year old was a little baby. I was feeling every way but normal, my narcolepsy symptoms started to become unmanageable, and you helped me through that rough time. Now my son crawls in to bed with me when he has a hard time sleeping and asks if we can listen to the blonde lady who whispers. I truly think he listened to you so much as a baby that you are his comfort now. It’s just subconscious for him. So now we plan “sleepovers” when Dad is on nights. We set up the pillows comfy in my bed and we prop up the phone and he picks one of your videos. I love when he says “this part makes my forehead feel mushy.” He gets the tingles just like me and it’s wonderful to see life come full circle for us, and you have a major part in that!

Wow. Everytime I see one of these where you share your perspectives on things, am struck by how wise and intelligent you are... I say both because I think of wisdom as more of a spiritual or insightful quality, and intelligence as more applied knowledge one has sought and acquired proactively. So as for the wisdom aspect, I guess it feels like you’re an old soul as they say. Like it’s so layered as to give the feeling that it’s from many lifetimes of experience, and I love that you use it so effectively in your desire to be supportive of others - while remaining very forthright and realistic in that support. It’s very touching and liberating for people I think... At least that’s how I perceive it. Thank you for taking the time to do this for your viewers.

I think your advice about finding your path career-wise is excellent. Growing up, I was extremely poor. I lived in a very small town with no opportunities, and even though I had a loving mother, there was a lot of abuse from other sources in my life. All I wanted was to get out. I got excellent grades and moved away at 18 to go to university. But unfortunately, I lost myself along the way. All I could think about up until that point was surviving; I never stopped to think about what I would do afterwards. To this day, I still struggle with the question "what do you want out of life?" and I just turned 30. But narrowing down what I DON'T want has helped a lot. I don't want to go back to living in poverty. I don't want to work at a job that will take advantage of me. I don't want to sacrifice my creativity if I can help it. I'm certainly not working at my dream job, and I feel like I have a lot of growing left to do, but whenever I'm stuck thinking "what do I want?", I'm becoming more comfortable not knowing the exact answer. Also, it was so heartwarming to hear about how happy you were when you finally took the step to get divorced from your ex. I totally understand not wanting to badmouth an ex partner, but I remember watching your videos during that time and I think we all noticed an immediate change when you became single. It's good for people to hear stories like this, and go realize that breaking up with someone or separating from a spouse isn't a failure, and it isn't the end of the world. That it can actually be the beginning of a new and exciting chapter in your life.

So sad and enraging about having to take your family videos down. It was a joy to see all the adventures you had when your parents came to visit, and beautiful to see Mila explore the world. My favorite was the one where she sorted eggs at the end, real mother-daughter stuff and I marveled at her hand-eye coordination. A shame that it's not safe to share happiness with the world at large, when you set such a good example of what family life could be. But I get it and support you in it, and feel privileged to have been able to see them when they were up.

it's so comforting to hear how you speak about early motherhood. as a deeply emotional and sensitive person, I'm very nervous/afraid of having kids and how that will absolutely mess with my head/emotions, and I feel like I never hear anyone discuss that so I just deduce that parenthood is not for me or is just going to be inordinately hard for me. hearing you speak of it this way is so real and not sugar coated and when I do decide to have kids, I know I will never forget your words

Just to add to what you were saying to Christina, this is so true. Motherhood is a wallop in the face and it can feel so overwhelming. But then as your kids get older, all those expectations you had of the FUNNESS and JOY of having kids, happens! When you're through the tricky toddler stages and the relentlessness of parenting small kids... age 6-7 plus kids are brilliant! I mean, you obviously will feel this before 6-7 years! But as they get older and more independent the balance between it being hard work and fun/amazing tips way more in favour of fun and amazing. We are sold a lie that motherhood is fulfulling and joyous as if there are no other sides to it. This needs to stop. Motherhood is beautiful and amazing but it's really, really hard and will challenge you to your core. Xxx

Maria, you have such a great way with words. I have found lately that it is more exhausting to be angry and have other negatives emotions than to just let it go. Especially if it's something that is small and insignificant. You are right about your emotions influencing other people's emotions. And it's just a big domino effect. And I'm tired of being tired, so I just am slowly learning to let the little things go. At least things I can't control. I feel more calm and content that way. It doesnt always work, and it is okay to have a bad day or feel negative emotions cause it's natural and we're human of course. But to feel it for a brief moment, and then letting it go, is so freeing. As they say, it is what it is. Xoxo Thank you for your wisdom. ❤

Hi Maria!! I asked the favorite meal question!!! I tried your spaghetti squash recipe years ago and that has been one of my favorites (no one else likes squash in my house so I make both halves for me lol) I love these videos, it’s so nice to hear from you in a relaxed “off the cuff” way!

You talking about magic and adventure reminded me of whispers of the heart, a ghibli movie, that made me travel back to my childhood and when I saw magic in every corner! Is so important to have that in life! Especially for children but for adults to! Thank you for that! ❤️🥰

2 VIDEOS?!?! Well aren’t we all just so spoiled! Thank you Maria! The other night I thought about how I would to watch a Q&A video from Maria, either on her Gentle Whispering channel or here on Sassy Masha. I am so happy!!!😂Thank you Maria! You are so so appreciated and I adore you.💕I have learned so much from you over the years, I am the oldest of three girls so I see you as a big sister.💕I have been watching for at least 9 years now. I changed when I hadthe baby. Eventually you realise you arent going back. And the positive things if you create them make you proud of the wonderful person you are becoming. My son is a teenager now and I can see I could go back to who I was but being a mom makes you a better person hopefully and it's better, why go back?? Evolving might be foreign or uncomfortable but hallelujah it's a blessing.

As a new mom with not many friends, I have been struggling with severe post partum depression. It's so refreshing to hear that other woman have a hard time too and understand! You said everything so perfectly. It is definitely scary knowing your life will never be the same.

You have a wonderful, uplifting community here. Who could not love you, Maria? You have such a beautiful heart and you do so much for others. I’m so glad I found you here on KZbin. I had my son and daughter very late in life, and I felt very inept as a new mother. Your wisdom and encouragement here about parenting is spot on and I wish I knew then the things you spoke about in these two videos. You are a joy!! 💝

I’ve been watching since I was around 20 years old. It’s crazy how much time has passed. Maria’s videos have been there as little comforts during some of the roughest times. And provided some belly laughs along the way. Thank you for sharing your talent and your life with us. It means an awful lot

You're truly a very strong and amazing woman. Please do a video on how you managed to live life, financially more specifically, once you started living alone post divorce. Thank you for your great vlogs!

I both love and appreciate how honest, open, and vulnerable you made yourself for these Q&A videos. You've been a big part of our lives for so long, and yet it still seems like we're always learning something new about you. Thank you for always being a constant in my life, and for just being you.

I love honest conversations about motherhood. Some of it is really hard. I definitely felt like it changed me forever and in some ways I didn't ask for. But I have found peace with the new version of me and wouldn't go back to how I was even if I could. I learned the hard way how important it was to take care of myself alongside caring for my children. And if any parent (or anyone) is having significant struggles with mood or mental health then please reach out and get support. Everyone deserves to feel peace, wellness, and happiness in life and even if it's bad there is a path to feeling better, maybe not a straight path or an easy path but you can feel better. 🥰

Omg... This!! @11:27 It takes a good heart to recognize and admit how one's own mood is affecting others!
