Kim Gordon Hi Kim, it depends on what size bead you are working with and the overall effect you are looking to achieve. I work with mostly 20 gauge wire, sometimes 22. 18 gauge will give you a heavier effect, but be a bit harder to work with. Have fun and experiment! Happy creating - Lisa

My big problem with doing wire work like this is figuring out how much wire to use. A lot of instructions just say "take a length of wire" and that's not very helpful. Just the fact that this one mentioned using a specific length makes it so much more useful for me!
