Ethiopian is a great airline, however, the service they offer is very basic and standard. A new set of menu options will be much appreciated. They also need to upgrade the interior of the airplane with new seat designs just to provide more comfort to their passengers, which is well within their means as they are the most profitable airline in Africa.
@frezerzelalem40172 жыл бұрын
Definitely true...I observed in recent improvement they upgraded their A350s, if not all, to a 1-2-1 seat configuration in their business class.

For short haul flights I prefer the window seat but for long haul flights I prefer the aisle seat because it's easier to just get up and go to the rest room at regular intervals.

Good to see you outside the studio. Flew Ethiopian Airlines a few years ago, on a trip from the US to Nigeria. I chose that flight because it was almost half as cheap(El Cheapo) as the other airlines...but the transit was way longer cos of the layover at Addis Ababa....all in all the flight wasn't that bad.
@dayoawosika1382 жыл бұрын
I travelled business class with them two years London to Lagos as an urgent option. Good flight. Nice staff. 2 drawbacks: Connecting flight delayed in Addis Ababa and no ice for my whiskey, but hey that was not a big problem. I will fly with them again one day.

that's a good reflection! If Africans prioritize African airlines I am strongly believe they will get the chance to improve their services. As the market is so dominated by non-African ones the capitals are leaving the continent. Capital is key for business.

Is it safe to travel with them ?? Cause one of the planes crushed in 2019. I always travel with Qatar but the tickets cost 450 euros more so I choose Ethiopian which was cheaper

How was the flight experience. I am doing it in December
@proyouservicesltd36522 жыл бұрын
Flew them 4 years ago Heathrow to Enugu Nigeria, not the best experience honestly especially the Addis Ababa to Enugu flight. They were the only International Airline landing in Enugu at the time. I only fly African Airlines in the spirit of "Buying black" so I would use them again in the absence of another African Airline. My experience flying Kenyan Airline Lagos to Heathrow 18months was a far better experience.
@SassyFunke2 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the feedback. I agree with supporting our own when we can. Surely over time, they will improve
@ManLikeBishy2 жыл бұрын
Please what about the flight from Addis Ababa to Enugu? How bad was it? I do normally track their operations to Enugu and to say the least, I’m not impressed with the frequent equipment change. They said the dedicated aircraft for the route is the Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner but more often they operate with the Boeing 737-800 instead.
@proyouservicesltd36522 жыл бұрын
@@ManLikeBishy To me it was the worst flight experience I have ever had. After disembarking from London to Addis Ababa flight we were made to pass through an x-ray scanner just to get to our waiting area for our flight to Enugu. Then when it was time to board it was like herding cattle down flights of stairs to get to tarmac level then we had to wait for a bus to drive us to the plane all the while in a tightly packed crowd. Entering the Enugu plane instantly notice a significant drop standard and age of interior decor, seats were old and worn. Food was plain rice and tomato puree no lie!
@proyouservicesltd36522 жыл бұрын
@@SassyFunke Like I said my experience was 4 years ago so I hope they have made some improvements. I will continue to fly with them but not if they still make passengers to pass through an x-ray scanner. I am willing to go far and beyond to support African Airlines but I won't risk being x-rayed again for the privilege.
@ManLikeBishy2 жыл бұрын
@@proyouservicesltd3652 Sorry about the awful experience. They must have used one of their old planes, prolly the Boeing 767 which has a very outdated interior. But as of recent they’ve been flying the Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner and the Boeing 737-800 to Enugu. The Dreamliner being the better option.

@proyouservicesltd36522 жыл бұрын
It's not an issue maintenance is standard or all airlines flying internationally. With evidence of regular maintenance airports around the world would withdraw permission for them to land or operate at their airports.
@frezerzelalem40172 жыл бұрын
that is more like a stereotype. If you checked the dominants like Ethiopian, Kenyan or South Africans, they have superb maintenance facilities. ET even provide services to middle eastern and other African planes.

Ethiopia flight from Accra to Addis ababa is okay . The plane is bigger and nice .I enjoyed it but from Addis ababa to Dubai I didn't like, smaller plane , it's like traveling with air peace from Lagos to Abuja ( may be the smaller plane is due to distance from Addis ababa to Dubai is shorter )

For those who would have flown with other international carriers before u can clearly tell that client service and hospitality on all African carriers needs serious polish up. With Ethiopian airlines being the worst . Flew with them only once and the last time , from Johannesburg to Heathrow and back and I must say the trip spoiled my holiday . Trust me , the actual flight can either make or break your holiday . The crew on the plane and also on check in desk are rude and totally not hospitable . Especially the ones by Heathrow . The supervisor to be precise . The few 5 people I talked to there were also having the same sentiments . It’s like they are always moody and angry as if they are over worked and under paid . We clearly told them that they are rude and we gonna complain and it’s like they didn’t care and not even moved . Poor hospitality goes across most African airlines . The situation might differ however if you are white . Africans still have colonization of the mind and always treat white people superiorly compared to how they treat their own fellow people . And we kinda felt that’s why the staff at Heathrow was rude at us because all the 5 of us were black. Arabs always thought they are never Africans and are better than the rest of the continent . Personally that was the last time I will ever fly Ethiopian. Trust me , rather pay extra to fly emirates or Qatar than to mess up your whole trip. In hospitality, a simple smile when you are welcoming your guests goes a long way . You won’t lose anything . If you fly with international carriers like emirates or British airways , you feel like you have known the crew your whole life . Even their airport staff at Heathrow . There are always people around just waiting to give a friendly helping hand if you seem lost or when you just walk into the airport . Africa needs to know that it’s not just about the numbers or quality of planes you own but also about the quality of hospitality you give your clients

After flying KLM British, and Turkish, Ethiopian is by far the best. What is most important for me on a long haul flight is seat reclinement. At Turkish, Klm and British the reclinement is very limited and that gives me severe back pain. At Ethiopian the Reclinement is far better and you can really push it backwards. Another thing is that the cabin is warm enough (25-26) so you can sit in light clothes.The service is good and they don't ask you more than you want. Addis Airport is nice and small. No stress whatsoever

I love your candid opinions on this channel, whether I agree with them or not. You give sound clarity when expressing your personal experience and opinions. I hope the Nigerian immigration officers can improve up to the standard of Ghanian immigration officers that appear to be polite. Dirty toilets are extremely offensive in my book; I would personally clean it myself to vent my anger and may find it difficult to trust anyone else to clean the toilet. Easy for me to say since I am not multi-tasking as a mother, travelpreneur and a wife; God bless your industriousness.
