The one thing I absolutely love about this anime/manga/novel is that it does not have any problem showing how bad things can get, or how bad the past had been to the characters. But when Rimuru comes into the picture, everyone seems to remember that although the past may have been absolutely terrible they can look to the future and know what it feels like to be truly happy and remember how to smile.

I think what a lot of people missed in this episode is the name of the ability Rimuru uses when he becomes human, yes he absorbed Shizu so he takes on her appearance, but as you can plainly see in the anime he only looks like Shizu when he makes himself look feminine. His ability is mimic, not copy. He is mimicking Shizu, which is why he keeps his own trait of being gender-less. In fact, if you look closely at his attempt at a masculine form you can see that many of his traits are reminiscent of his old human body, which would not be the case if he was copying Shizu instead of mimicking her.

Some people who are up to date with the light novels still seem to think he's actually incapable of taking on actual sex features, when in actuality he probably could if he actually used all pertinent powers, but he doesn't actually understand the full extent of his powers. He definitely does have the ability to manifest genitalia if he put his mind to it he doesn't know how to actually do that. The Difference is; Lord Ainz Ooal Gown is more of a insta-death and less hopeful if people go inside to his Crib. For him everything Ainz Ooal Gown is more worth then the rest, Including the Guild HQ and all later integrated Subjects. Even the protection of the VIPs of Carne are taken serious. While for Rimuru he sees the City that he builds more as a thing then something important, as it can be rebuild with ease. So no reason to get angry over some buildings. And the other times (at least in the WN I don't know how much they change this in the LN later on) there is no real great danger for his important things/people. If I remember right Rimuru only lost it two times for real. And at this points there wasn't much left of the lovable Slime until his anger subsided. Also the last thing you said I don't know, can you recommend it?

One of Rimuru's powers was mentioned for the first time, but with no explanation -- Multilayer Barrier. Rimuru was surprised that it hadn't automatically worked along with Body Armor to prevent his arm from being cut off. (Grandfather Ogre is best beast!) We don't know from where the power came, nor what it actually does. (Yeah, I know. It is a barrier with multiple layers. 🙄 Thanks, Sherlock.) Usually the show has been good explaining the source of powers, such as this episode telling us that Black Flame is a combo ability built with Degenerate, which in turn came from analyzing Shizu's corpse. The beginning of the opening and end of the ending show a scene with Rimuru and eight more folks, who I think will become his prime lieutenants. They are Rigurd, Ranga, Gobta, and five of the Ogres (all but the very tall male one with the huge wooden hammer). I hope we can assume this means Gobta will start receiving respect from Rimuru. Currently how he treats Gobta is his biggest character flaw, IMO.
