IKR? Of the characters who appear at the beginning of the OP and end of the ED, only 4 of 9 have been formally introduced. Anyway, the WN, LN and manga did indeed contain fight scenes, but they were nowhere near as dynamic, even in the manga, as what is shown in the OP. That said, the fight against Ifreet was nowhere near as dynamic even in the manga as what was shown in the anime. The Ifreet fight was literally over in around 6 pages and frankly felt a little underwhelming for what it was supposed to be. So, I can really see them spicing up a lot more of the fight scenes in this series, and even as a WN and manga reader, I am INCREDIBLY excited to see these fight scenes finally get the visuals to match their epic premises. (I put some of the blame on the manga being a poor adaptation of the source material. The manga basically illustrates exactly what happened in the text-based source material, which does not have a huge amount of action due to the limitations of text. With text, the more action you talk about the more the reader just gets confused, so you don't see too many dynamic flourishes in that context. The anime, unlike the manga, is a fantastic adaptation that takes the epic premise set out by the WN and LN, and only considers the manga in so much as to match the character design and then decides to REALLY adapt the action so that it is all fantastic.)

Oldie, but a goodie. After rewatching Tensura for the nth time, thought it would be nice to see Chibi's takes, since I hadn't found this channel back then. Glorious review. The Shizue arc is one of the hardest hitting, saddest, most impactful arcs in all of anime for me. I can't word it right as to why, but, everything about Shizue and her life has an extreme emotional impact on me. Watching the first time, I was helpless and wrecked. To this day, every single time I rewatch the anime, or see a meme, or come across a review, if it references Shizue, I am likely to tear up at some point. We don't even know her that long, but, she matters to me oh so much. I am 1000% with Chibi on the comment about the most emotional moment. Every time, when Rimiru turns around with those tears in his eyes, I can feel Truck-kun come speeding right around the curb and smack right into my composure. Also, her tears evaporating as Ifrit takes over her is pretty rough to see each time. Having read all of the English novels so far, I never stopped thinking of Shizue, and why she matters. Knowing what I know, about the Hero, Chloe, Shizue, and Rimiru, I see Tensura as massively epic, and a fantastic story which still has me pondering about the unsaid details that have taken place outside of our MC's reality. At the end of Rimiru's part of season one......hearing "Thank you, Slime-san"......damn.

TheChosenOne Hardly knew her? She was summoned from world war 2 by a demon lord when she was a child mind you, had a spirit curse on her that allowed her to use fire (something that she hated due to WW2), killed one of her friends due to the spirit curse and has been abandoned a lot. She’s been through hell time and time again yet she tried to live the best life that she could and was able to do that when she settled down by teaching students at a school and decided to go on one last journey before the curse took her over. With Rimuru’s help she was able to finally be free only to die moments afterwards due to the curse. She was finally able to reunite with her mother after she died. What part of this is “knowing hardly anything about her?” For someone who was only around for a few episodes, she got far better charactization than most main shounen females who have the entire series and that is pretty sad tbh. To this day Sakura only has two big achievements out of 800 something episodes and ochako’s last bit of chartization was during the sport festival arc. I don’t exactly remember if she got any from the overhaul arc cause I know she was involved so take that with a grain of salt and note I love ochako as a character but she sadly doesn’t do much.

@@okkoheinio5139 that is the extend of Predator, this is more future knowledge I have since Ive read the WN but an example and small spoiler from the future is that soon Predator will Evolve into Gluttony and latter they find someone with Greed, Greed took the life and strength from someone but Rimuru could still see the soul and wondered why it didnt take it too, then Great Sage says that Greed cant do that since its of a lower order than Gluttony, basically Greed can take all from the living while Gluttony can take even from the death also, in the side stories, Veldoras Diary (his diary inside Rimuru) he mentions that Predator as an ability is really broken and that Rimuru hasnt been really using it to its fullest potentail yet, but for example, he doesnt reallt need to phisically consume them, that is a misunderstanding on Rimurus part, he just need t touch something and it will be disintegrated and asimilated as such

Even if we knew Shizu very briefly, she was still an amazing character. She lived a full life filled with pain but met people who gave her a reason to live. Like Rimuru, we barely knew her, but we know what she's been through and to see her finally resting in peace after everything gives us a reason to really care about her character. I am truly loving this series now after this episode and can't wait to see what happens next.

I was actually looking forward to more Rimuru and Shizu interactions, so I'm gonna miss Shizu a lot T^T this was a very emotional episode. I'm glad that they made Rimuru's human form look like Shizu, so it's like honouring her / she lives on in Rimuru. Rest in Peace. One episode a week.... it feels too short for a series so good, I can't wait for the next episode.

To clarify, Humans that are summoned over to this world must have a way of acquiring magical particles or they die due to rapid aging and cell degeneration. The reason the demon lord said Shizu was a failure is because she lacked or didn't acquire said ability when summoned (most don't) he then implanted ifrit in her which gave her a way to acquire magical particles thus she lived. Rimuru absorbed Ifrit which means Shizu is now under the full effects of no longer being able to acquire magical particles hence the rapid aging. Her body literally broke down because of this. She was always going to die like this until she ironically had ifrit. Also she didn't die first and then was eaten by Rimuru, Rimuru ate her before she died as her literal wish was not for her body but for her "SOUL" to not be left to feed this world, so Rimuru ate her soul, body, and all. This is an important distinction as it will become a plot point later in the story.

You might wanna be careful about spoilers in the thumbnail and title Chibi. Not all of your subscribers watched the latest episode of a show before you upload and you could spoil it just from your thumbnail and title alone. You're free to talk about it in the video itself of course but just seeing the title in the sub feed tells me (before watching the episode itself) Rimuru gets his human form in this episode and "but at what cost" tells us something (or someone) is lost in the process (and we know how Rimuru's skill predator works) and then in the thumbnail you put "Shizu truly is best girl" (which would've been fine on it's own) and then it's not that hard to connect the dots.

What a lot of people haven't noticed, is that this anime feels very similar to more older animes, you know the time when music in anime could make you shiver? It kinda feels nostalgic watching this. Although, it isn't a perfect replica, it's a hybrid of modern and old anime.

This has to be one of the few times that most of an episode of anime was filler, and absolutely no one minded. So much in this episode that's not shown by either than manga or web novel, but all of it only expanded the story, exploring things people want to know, but are only mentioned in passing in the other mediums. You're a bit off on what was happening with Shizue, though if you haven't been reading the web novel then you wouldn't know this yet, as the manga hasn't gotten there yet. SPOILERS AHEAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You have been warned. OK, so Shizue's summoning was NOT a successful summoning. When the normal practices are followed for a summoning, 30 wizards participate in a ritual lasting 2 days, and it only has a 3% chance of working. Leon wasn't following the normal summoning ritual, and performed it himself. When the normal ritual isn't followed, an unsuccessful summoning instead of resulting in nothing happens will summon a child. Moreover, because this child will not have developed a Unique Skill when they crossed over, the energies in their bodies will go uncontrolled. The expected fate for a child summoned through an improper summoning ritual is to survive for 2-3 years before the uncontrolled energies within them causes their bodies to literally explode. When Leon bound Ifrit to Shizue, Ifrit allowed Shizue to control the energies within herself, allowing her to avoid that fate (yes, his binding Ifrit to Shizune was a kindness, though I've yet to get far enough in the novel to see his perspective). So while Ifrit was slowly gaining control over Shizue, due to how overwhelmingly powerful he is as a Spirit, he was also stabilizing the wild energies within her and keeping her alive. Once Rimuru removed Ifrit from Shizue, nothing was stabilizing the powers within her anymore, and while they weren't wild enough to make her explode anymore, they still weren't under control enough to sustain Shizue's life anymore. MAJOR SPOILER AHEAD!!!!! And this one's directly related to where the manga currently leaves off (and a bit to stuff revealed this episode)!!! You have been warned. All of the students in Shizue's class are children who have been improperly summoned, and are expected to die relatively soon. Shizue was travelling to find Leon to ask him how he saved her (she didn't know it was Ifrit), since she now understands the fate on children summoned like she was, and that Leon was responsible for her avoiding that. She was trying to save the children from her class.

Only reason why Shizu even managed to live this long is because of Ifrit, and she would've lived for longer had she not tried to resist it that much and adapted to her powers.
