Sat finder light (To find out which way to point the satellite dish)

I have 5 satellite dishes. 1) 1 meter solid sat dish Triax. And 4 Sky Zone 2 80 cm mesh sat dish. In the Faroe Islands. Receiving Thor 0.8W, Hotbird 13.0E, Astra 19.2E, Astra 23.5E and Astra 28.2E.

I’m thinking of getting one as a hobby to watch world news and local channels. Do you and other still use a satellite dish or it done by internet now? I’ve always been interested foreign tv channels. I watch some in my tv, but they can be hit or miss if they work.

you can use the internet but if you just want free to view channels then use the satellite as its easier and gets you away from the computer. its more fun on the satellite

@@2j4ez either would be fine for me. Right now I live in an apartment, and bottom floor so that why I was thinking would the internet be an option. The satellite would be fun and interesting. I have an old sky digital dish but being an electrician and can do other maintenance jobs I’d be able to get a dish up and teach myself. I’ve recently came across a KZbin channel that’s been showing North Korean TV, very interesting. I’ve only just found yours last week too. I was glad to find it as satellite tv and other tv channels interest me.

Im from Washington state, we point all our dishes south. Wondering if people in the soyther hemisphere point their dishes north? Trying to understand where these sattlelites are actually, since there is no real map of them or even pictures for that matter. Any ideas mate?

Satellites are 37000 kilometers above the equator. So those on the southern hemisphere will point north but depending on the position of the bird along the equator.

DJ bouncy castle as long as your lnb is universal you can pick up German channels. On my camping system with a small dish I can Astra 2 and Astra 1 and could be In the middle of a car park or field and still get the boxing for free saving £21
