9:50 in case not example cos theta or not particular given angle (90,60,45,30,0) but angle like random then again the normal sin trig functions formula

There was a question I did,and there was tiangle in a circle in the xy plane.It's radius was at (0,1) and it's cordinates were root 3/root 2,and it asked for tan theta.How would you do this,tan=sin/cos=y/x,but I'm unsure which one I should use.

If you post the problem I'd be happy to help!

Root 3/2 is the y-value, which is the side opposite of a 60' angle on the unit circle. Root 3/2 is the tip off that you are dealing with radians. The question was asking you about your knowledge of the unit circle and terminal angles. You needed to provide tan 60 in radians, .3200.

For the sin problem shouldn't the answer be like 4.7 for sin? When I plug it in the calculator I get that value, on mathway it says the same... not sure if I'm doing sm wrong.
@scholometrics46182 жыл бұрын
Your calculator is currently in radians mode, if you change it to degrees mode then 2/(sin(35)) = 3.5 (roughly). It's important to make sure your calculator is in the right mode, so this is a good question, thanks for asking :)

is that all we need to know to have 0 mistakes in trig questions from SAT? or there are other things that we should know?
@scholometrics46182 жыл бұрын
These are all the skills you need, from having taken many tests and tutored many students on the math section of the SAT. That being said - you should also do practice problems so that you know when to apply each of these skills.
