When you point out that Calvin, Luther, & Zwingli accept many of the doctrines he's rallying against they accuse the reformers of being too Catholic and only accepting Catholic (Marian, Canon etc) doctrines because of the "Catholic soil" they were planted in. Newsflash James White - YOU are planted in Catholic soil, just a lot further from the garden. Your future protestant critics will one day accuse YOU of being too Catholic for the few things left that you cling to which are sound doctrine coming from the Church. Every generation of self assured autonomous protestant authoritarians finds themselves a little further from the deposit of faith. This archetype is not new. But a few of these boastful claims appear in an ecclesiastical (Roman Catholic) dictionary, by Lucius Ferraris, entitled _Prompta Bibliotheca Canonica,_ Vol. VI, pgs. 438, 442, article "Pope." _The Catholic Encyclopedia,_ 1913 edition, Vol. VI, p. 48, speaks of this book as "a veritable encyclopedia of religious knowledge," and "a precious mine of information." "The pope is of so great dignity and so exalted that he is not a mere man, but as it were God, and the vicar of God." "The pope is of such lofty and supreme dignity that, properly speaking, he has not been established in any rank of dignity, but rather has been placed upon the very summit of all ranks of dignities. . . ." "He is likewise the divine monarch and supreme emperor and king of kings." "Hence the pope is crowned with a triple crown, as king of heaven and of earth and of the lower regions." "So that if it were possible that the angels might err in the faith, or might think contrary to the faith, they could be judged and excommunicated by the pope." "The pope is as it were God on earth, sole sovereign of the faithful of Christ, chief king of kings, having plenitude of power, to whom has been entrusted by the omnipotent God direction not only of the earthly but also of the heavenly kingdom." "The pope can modify divine law, since his power is not of man but of God." The above quotes are from _What's Behind The New World Order?_ Go to CatholicNewWorldOrder.com and click on the top link. ---------- "I am all in all and *above all,* so that God, Himself and I, the Vicar of God, have but one consistory, and I am able to do ALMOST ALL THAT GOD CAN DO . . . What therefore, can you make of me but God?" -Pope Nicholas, quoted in _Antichrist_ by Ian Paisley, pg. 54. The pope calls himself God, i.e., "Lord God the pope," "another God on earth." "We hold upon this earth the place of God Almighty," Pope Leo XIII said in an _Encyclical Letter,_ June 20, 1894. "The Pope is not only the representative of Jesus Christ, but he is Jesus Christ Himself, hidden under veil of flesh," the _Catholic National_ said in July 1895. And every priest is an "Alter Christus," Another Christ. So every priest is Jesus. Plus, during the Mass the priest transubstantiates the bread into the literal, "real presence" of Christ. In other words, man creates God. "He is the creator of his Creator." _-The Dignity and Duties of the Priest_ by Liguori, Ch. 1, Part IV. How is any of this _not_ blasphemy?! Christianity teaches that the pope is the Antichrist. The proud pontiff's official title is Vicar of Christ, meaning "in the place of Christ." Vicar of Christ translated into Greek is Antichristos, in English Antichrist, also meaning "in the place of Christ." Vicar of Christ and Antichrist are the exact same word in two different languages. Vicar of Christ in Latin is Vicarius Filii Dei, meaning Vicar of the Son of God, or Vicar of Christ. VICARIVS FILII DEI. Add up the 11 Roman numerals and you get 666. Rev. 13:18. angelfire.com/on/3angels Revelation 13. 1 I . . . saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns . . . and upon his heads the name of blasphemy. 2 And _the _*_dragon (Satan)_*_ gave him (the beast) his power, and his seat,_ and great authority. 4 And _they worshipped the _*_dragon_*_ which gave power unto the beast:_ and they worshipped the beast . . . 5 And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies . . . 6 And he opened his mouth in *blasphemy against God,* to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven. Well, how can you be Christian by worshipping the Antichrist (in the place of Christ) instead of Jesus Christ? Wouldn't that make you an ANTI-Christian, a Satan-worshipping, hellbound pagan? 🔥 Blasphemous titles claimed for the pope have been embellished and enlarged over the centuries. "And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, *_Come out of her,_** my people,* that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities." Rev. 18:4, 5.

@@floravarghese416 The Old Testament Jews actually did not put the Bible Canon together. By the time of Jesus there were multiple sects within Judaism such as the Pharisees, etc. And the Jews did not have an outlined Canon, they had a rough idea of what might be Scripture, but they didn’t know for sure, by the time of Jesus. Just read from the historian Josephus, even though he’s not exactly one hundred percent credible. After Jesus, the Jews didn’t have a set Canon for a long time, and the Christian Church had already been growing and spreading by the time they finally set a Jewish canon. The early Christians did not keep a set Canon, they did not decide to create a set Canon, so there were multiple ideas within the Christian community about what was Canon, and Christians went without a set Canon for a while, and there were again different ideas about the Canon, the early Christian Writings outnumbered the New Testament Books, and there was debate over the Old Testament Canon, since the Jews didn’t have a set Canon by the time of Jesus. @@tony1685 Tony, Iconoclasm was settled in the 8th century. The heaviest Eastern critics ended up being the foremost makers and lovers of Icons. When you don't know history you're doomed to repeat someone else's errors. What better way to use the gift of artistry than to make art and sculpture praising God. Square John 14:15 with the bronze serpent, the angels on the arc of the covenant, or the bulls, pomegranates, or palm trees in the Temple. The commandment forbids "Worship" of icons as Gods (as does Catholic doctrine), but not veneration of holy objects. This is easily illustrated by both biblical texts and Christian history. Earliest depiction of Mary is in the catacombs, year 150ish. Earliest depiction of Angels is on top of the arc of the covenant. Or 250 for angels depicted by Christians. @@tony1685 Yikes, So much error to respond to. This is what happens when you follow a false prophet like Ellen G White. 1. I don't ignore the dark ages, or any other dark spot in Church history. Just like I dont ignore both Solomon and David (killing a man to have someones wife?, Bringing idols into the city?) We are fallen. Re-read the book of Kings / Judges. These were Gods annointed ones and more often than not, they failed. 2. The Bronze serpent was not in the sanctuary. It was outside. People were ordered to gaze upon a statue to be healed. A statue of a snake no less. Or how about people being healed by Peters hankerchief? How about images of Mary in the catacombs where the earliest Christians worshipped? How about the priests being ritually cleansed in a bowl supported by Oxen. You need more context. The commandment not to worship idols is prohibits just that. WORSHIP. This is illustrated clearly in the story of the bronze serpent. It was right and just for God to work through miracles through a statue, but the moment the people started to WORSHIP it in place of God, he ordered it destroyed. 3. Yes it is ok to murder. It's called Just War. The Catechism has a section on it. God is the same today and forever. If HE deems war ok in some circumstances then who am I to argue. 4. Yes I can show you where the 1st day was made holy. It's called the resurrection. Christ is Lord over the Sabbath. The early church recognized this. Roman spy accounts tell about the Eucharist being celebrated on the "day of the sun" as early as the 100's. The old Sabbath has passed away, though the Catholic Church still keeps a Saturday evening Vigil mass (near sundown) available as an option for worship. 5. Pray means petition. It means to converse with but more specifically to ask. Christ himself conversed with Moses and Elijah in front of 2 apostles. They spoke of his journey to Jerusalem. Christ also said, everything I have done, you will do and more. 6. I can show you where Christ forgave sins as a model to the apostles. "Go your sins are forgiven" I can show in the book of James where it says Confess your sins to one another. I can show where Christ says to Peter what you retain on earth is retained in heaven and what you loose on earth is loosed in heaven. Confession is a gift. Christ appointed placeholders in the form of priests to carry on his earthly ministry. Part of that ministry was the forgiveness of sins. Run away from that apostate heretic Church, Seventh Day Adventists. Run far away!

Oh? You never get tired of Trent's rebuttals, huh? WELL HOW ABOUT THIS REBUTTAL OF CATHOLICISM? Mr. Horn is wasting his LIFE trying to promote a non-prophet organization, and here's why. Specifically, the catechism quotes the Council of Trent (which claimed to be guided by the Holy Spirit TWICE in their decree on the Eucharist) and states that the Catholic religion may be SUMMARIZED in one sentence --which, as will be shown, just happens to be a lie. I've mentioned this on other of his videos, but of course, he is speechless. So buckle your seat belts. Notice the words in caps... “Christ our Redeemer SAID that it was TRULY his body he was OFFERING [in sacrifice at the Last SUpper] ...." (CCC 1376). Aside from the fact it is point blank, flatly unbiblical to assert that Christ "offered himself in sacrifice at the Last Supper BEFORRRRRE he went to the cross" (CCC 621), the worse error is to misquote Jesus Christ who DID NOT SAY that the bread was "TRUUUUUUULY" his body. He said, "This is my body", period, not that the bread was "TRUUUULY" his body. Obviously, the magisterium felt the biblical account was inadequate to stand on its own, and so in reaction to the Reformers, they stuck a word in Christ's mouth to force their position down the gullible laity's throats pretending the Holy Spirit was guiding them. NONSENSE. Now the fact is, the words, "This is" are shown to be metaphorical by at least 50 examples throughout the biblical record, whereas papal pundits simply ASSERT, without a scrap of evidence, that Jesus was speaking literally! If they want to risk their souls on that (since those VERY WORDS they MISQUOTE Jesus as saying actually SUMMARIZE their whole life's existence!), then so be it. We have warned them. As a result of their being guilty of adding to the word of God, all claims for infallibility come tumbling down, not to mention anything they say about the Eucharist is to be rejected as well. Now the fact is, it is up to the Christian to decipher the Lord's meaning FROM THE TEXT, and not from the circus of Catholic apologetic clowns who came after it. Hence, based on the fact Jesus is gravely concerned about the sanctity of his word down to the last “jot and tittle” (Matt 5:18), that one, single gross addition to the word of God (namely, "TRULY") is like a flashing neon sign that ANY non-catholic explanation regarding the words "This is"... should be preferred over and against what the Pope has to say. Therefore, Transubstantiation is unsubstantiated and unsustainable due to the council claiming to be infallible, but in fact, have been found to be liars (Rev 2:2; cf: Deut 18:22, Jer 23:30-40, Ezekiel 13:1-7). It is promised in those passages that all who recklessly wag their tongues by asserting, “The Lord says”, (when the Lord did not say), will be swiftly cast out of his presence (cf. Jeremiah 14:14, 23:16-21). Since CCC 1376 is biblically bankrupt, yet decreed by a supposedly “infallible” council (CCC 888-892) the case for Transubstantiation and Infallibility falls flat and Catholicism is instantly exposed as a “non-prophet” organization (Eph 5:11). Care to respond? No, I didn't think so.

Anglo-Saxon root Circe, daughter of Helios, the Sun-deity; Tyndale used the word "CHURCHES" in his translation only in one place in Acts where it spoke of pagan temples. Ekklesia = Greek for assembly or congregation. The proper terminology to be used is "assembly" or "assemblies". SUN DEITY NAMES USED WITHIN CHRISTIANITY AND MOST PUT IN THE SCRIPTURES WHICH PROVES THAT CHRISTIANITY IS OF SATAN: JESUS, CHRIST, ANGEL, AMEN, ADONAI, LORD, GOD, BIBLE, SACRED HADES, HELL - DEITIES OF THE UNDERWORLD AND SUN DEITIES TOO. "Judgmental" is not when you speak an unpleasant truth or moral boundary. A judge doesn't _teach_ the law; he _punishes_ people for breaking it. To judge is to punish. Punish not lest ye be punished. Not, Teach not lest ye be taught unpopular or upsetting doctrines or morals. It's okay to upset people with God's truth. It's not okay to punish them for not following it.

I was raised in a good protestant home, as strange as it may sound, that is what led me to convert. I heard "once saved, always saved" my whole life, but it never felt right. I just couldn't believe that (forgive the childish example,but I was a child) at the end of time, that my parents would be in line to get into heaven with criminals, satanists who had once been baptized, or anyone that,at least externally, looked like they were on the road straight to hell, but because they were once "saved" it didn't matter how they lived. It just didn't make sense that you go down front, say a prayer, get baptized and you are good for the rest of your life, no matter what you do. I never really felt all that bad when I did something wrong, if I did,I would just say a quick "Lord, please forgive me" and continue on my way. I'm never felt all that compelled to live the life my parents did with daily prayer and scripture. Then, the summer before my senior year of high school I went to a Catholic Church with my aunt, that one hour on a Sunday morning would change my life, albeit years later. I had gone to church in small town Oklahoma, if you have been, you know; if you haven't been, it would be hard to explain exactly. My church didn't handle snakes or drink poison, but the hours of speaking in tongues, dancing, and everyone praying and "praising God" at the top of their lungs. It was chaotic, disturbing, and frightening to an introverted young girl. I absolutely hated it! My family would change churches, but it had left its mark. The new church was what I would consider just a normal protestant church. This was probably five years before I would go to a Catholic Church. When I converted in 2003, at age 32, after not darkening the door of a church for well over a decade. I struggle to put into words how my life has changed, confession was one of the chief vehicles for that. I was terrified of that, now, I feel so blessed leaving the confessional. Anyway... I think these rebuttal videos are so important because White sounds reasonable, if you don't know any better, and could easily achieve his goal (I assume) to turn people away from catholicism. I feel so strongly about this because of the impact it has had on my life. I thank God every time I take Communion for bringing me to the Catholic Church, it saved my immortal soul and may well have saved my life. Thanks be to God! Also, I watched a video with White and Cameron Bartuzzi (likely butchered that spelling, the Capturing Christianity channel) and White was so condescending, dismissive, and, sometimes, just rude. That was my first encounter with White, it will be my last. Occasionally, I do listen to some protestant commentators and pastors. Occasionally, I will watch a debate. But if White is involved, probably give that a pass. I have no respect for someone who is dismissive of people who hold other views or people who may have a lower level of education or knowledge on a subject. In that video, he was pulling out obscure passages of obscure documents and, in effect, saying, "really? You are not familiar with paragraph 1497 of obscure 1400 year old document? What a moron! You shouldn't be talking about this subject until you read 2000 years of church documents." He even gave him a hard time for having Catholics on his channel and, in a very snarky way, asked him if he had any standards at all for who he would have on his show and White really didn't like that Cameron had been to church with Matt Fradd a couple of times. It really left a bad taste in my mouth where White is concerned.

That is, he came for the criminals, Satanists, and all evil people, not the good people. You think you're good but to who are you comparing yourself to? God said you and I are evil. Repent, Trust in the finished work of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins and you will be saved. The Catholic Church doesn't save. It's sending people to hell. That’s the original use of the term “tolerance”. Catholics and Protestants were told to *tolerate* each other rather than fight each other. They had far more similarities than differences and tolerance of the differences should be based on the similarities.

I like how the Protestant at 2:56 compares "Satan's asset" Catholicism against the "true gospel." They do this by first showing a bishop to represent Catholicism, but then show a Christ-less cross to represent Protestantism. It's a perfect visual metaphor for Protestantism: it's so close, but Christ isn't truly present.
@duckymomo79352 жыл бұрын
Because Christ isn’t on the cross anymore 🤨 This isn’t even a valid criticism as there are some with Christ on their crosses
@KEP19832 жыл бұрын
@@duckymomo7935 yeah, that's the Protestant talking point. Yet they still have other images of Christ, but don't say "Christ isn't a baby anymore," for instance. Also, I said it's a visual metaphor, not a philosophical argument. If you looked outside of a Planned Parenthood and saw a barren wasteland full of dead trees and shrubs, but across the street was a green, thriving conservative women's pregnancy center, you would say it's a visual metaphor for what's happening spiritually. That doesn't make it a philosophical argument. Yet again, the Protestant demonstrates that their theology is deficient in that it lacks the understanding of the importance of all three transcendentals: truth, beauty, and goodness. You only have a partial grasp of truth and goodness, and have completely handed over beauty to Satan and his human minions, which they have masterfully used to attack Christianity through the arts (media, film, etc).

While I agree it's an ironic metaphor here, I don't think it should be an argument Catholics use unless it's a sticking point for the Protestant (and then we just cite 1 Cor 1:23) because some Eastern Catholic Churches don't feature the corpus on their crosses.

Great video Trent! A shame this person tried to paint Catholicism with such a false and nasty brush.
@mojo74952 жыл бұрын
Rather, it's a shame that the Council of Trent has painted the BIBLE with such a false and nasty brush of the pen! As I said elsewhere (and to which you will not respond of course)...

The difference is that the Church finds the justification for her existence in the will of her founder, Christ our Lord while protestants find the justification of the existence of their churches in the premise that the Church is wrong or have been corrupted. Thus, there is no symmetry. The Church really doesn't need to speak about how wrong protestants are in order for her to be right. What is funnier is when a protestant group splits from another over issue of doctrine, it will most always be more anti-catholic than anti their mother-group despite their split with the latter being more recent and direct than with the Church.

That every Sunday - and every day of the week - I can go and do the work of receiving Jesus himself - BECAUSE HE SAID: Amen, Amen I say to you - unless you eat if the flesh of the Son of man, and drink of His blood, YOU HAVE NO LIFE IN YOU. Whoever eats my body and drinks my blood has eternal life and I will raise him on the last day. For my flesh is true food and my blood is true drink, whoever eats my body and drinks my blood remains/abides in me, and I in him. I would consider NO OTHER CHURCH unless they got this right. The church carries on the Sacraments which Jesus instituted to help me stay close to him. Baptism which is required for salvation. Reconciliation and Eucharist. Confirmation to receive the Holy Spirit as an adult. Marriage - look at what has happened to marriage in our society. Our children don’t even think they need to involve the church in marriage. But why be a priest for the Antichrist (in the place of Christ) if you'll just end up in hell for it? 🔥 Blasphemous titles claimed for the pope have been embellished and enlarged over the centuries. I have sincerely tried to comprehend OSAS (once saved always saved), but it makes no sense. First, they say once you're saved you can never lose your salvation. So I asked about people who get up for the altar call, but then do something horrible on the way home from the church. The answer is that those people were never saved. So then I asked about people who thought they were true believers, accepted Jesus Christ into their hearts, and really tried to live godly lives, but years later they do something pretty bad but not horrible. The answer is still, "Those people were never saved." That is scary! They want to say it's scary not to know with full assurance that you're going to heaven, but I think it's even scarier not to know if you were truly saved. You'd have to live your whole life immaculately, impeccably, and still not know if you're going to heaven, because what if you think a bad thought right as you draw your last breath? Like what if someone jumps out at you yelling "Boo!" and you have a deadly heart attack just as you're thinking, "You fool! You gave me a heart attack!" Maybe you never scolded anyone even in your thoughts let alone out loud for your whole Christian life, but that split second of anger at death shows that you were never saved, and only you and God know it, because everyone else thinks you went to heaven as a saved soul. Personally, I find it more reassuring to know that I can repent and beg forgiveness. I don't want to spend my life wondering if God decided I'm saved, or if He's just toying with me by making me think I'm saved all the while He's planning to shoot me straight to hell. That's not assuring.

I'm so glad you made a response to that video. I only came across it recently, since I've recently turned back to Christianity after a long time away. Although I'm baptized Lutheran I always had a soft spot for Catholics because my Mom and nearly everyone on her side of the family were Catholics. Anyways, I've been reading the Catechism and am signed up for an RCIA program starting in September, and when I came across that video it was infuriating to hear all the slander, and the title alone was incredibly triggering. I'm obviously still just in the early learning phase, so I'm not capable of properly defending the Church yet, so it's really nice to see a well versed and intelligent Catholic rebut all their claims. By the way, I just want to thank you Trent, as well as Matt from Pints of Aquinas for being incredible male Catholic role models for me, as I no longer have any parents and while I was already deciding to convert to Catholicism, you guys have really helped aid this process and I'm learning so much from you guys. My Dad became sick with dementia in my coming of age years and also wasn't super religious although he was a Lutheran, and I never felt like I could discuss certain topics with my Mom, or was at least too afraid to, as well as thought she couldn't relate on some things since she wasn't a man. So many questions that I didn't have answers to that allowed my to justify a lot of sins in the past have been answered now, and since you guys have so thoroughly and intelligently explained the doctrine on some of this issues, there isn't that resistance in my mind and i fully see them as sinful and have taken much more control of my life. God bless you guys! Incredible role models and I'm sure you'll continue to help so many other young men.

It sort of reminds me of people (mainly on the internet and most noticeably Twitter) demanding apologies but have not intention of laying it to rest. Now I’m not on one to hold modern people to the actions/crimes of the past, but I can see an argument where settling it apologetic words and a desire to move forward is a good practice. Bring everything that happened to the table, let me people air out their thoughts, identify where the issues happened, and move on. The Galileo apology is actually what got me researching into the Affair, and has led me to other so-called ‘atrocities’ of the Church that turned out to be completely false or terribly mis-fabricated. Once the truth is acknowledged and apologies said, though, then that’s when it should be left and both sides move on.

Nice attempt at projection and smearing with labels. It's beyond ironic that someone from an organization that puts a mortal man on a THRONE, with cherubim on either side mimicking the mercy seat of the Ark, and calls him the "Vicarious Christ," thereby worshiping a mortal as God, should call ANY church a "cult." Worshiping a man is the definition of a cult. It's amazing how many times in history the papacy has uttered statements declared the pope to be "another God on earth" and "Christ veiled in flesh," etc. People lick his toes! Disgusting. The Bible, which catholics say is a catholic book, calls for pastors and evangelists. So you should know why they exist. Ironically, all these denominations exist due to PAPAL OPPRESSION. The Reformers had a work to do in getting the Bible out of papist control and into people's hands. In the process, they ALL realized the papacy was the only power that fit the definition of antichrist. Terrified, the pope's Jesuits were launched to smother the Reformation. Since the Bible was now unstoppable, they perverted it with the counter-reformation, which splintered Christianity into fragmented denominations and introduced the jesuit-devised doctrine of dispensationalism, to get the heat off the pope. So, again, the truth of Protestant reform was crippled by the Papacy itself, instead of progressing into one faith as in the beginning. The false catholic boast of being "one true church " is just a random declaration that is completely inaccurate. The true church would not match the Bible descriptions of the biggest counterfeit church, nor would it persecute the saints in the dark ages, nor hide the Bible from the people until the printing press ended that monopoly, nor incorporate all the pagan relics and abominations that the papacy did to attract pagans into Romanism. Protestantism came into bring to protest the gross errors, oppression, and abominations of history's biggest cult, and its elevation of a mortal, often EXTREMELY sinful man, to the position of God on earth. Its like equating the pope with the Holy Spirit. That is blasphemy. Defenders of the world's biggest cult, giving homage to sinful popes as God or Christ, and even kissing his sweaty feet as he sits on the counterfeit mercy seat between fake cherubim, would be pure hypocrites to call any Protestant church a cult. Then again, perhaps there's a grain of truth. Many evangelical churches have dropped the Protestant label, as they are now declaring love for the pope, and long have embraced and defended the papal coup, the transferring of Sabbath to Sunday, which the papacy has bragged about. Soon they will join hands to enforce a universal Sun Day law, which will be the mark of the Roman beast that ordained it. As an aside, have you as a papist EVER read the jesuit extreme oath of induction? Do you even know what a brutal gang exists in your church for the express purpose of murdering non-Catholic humans? If you don't read that, you're lying to yourself. Go check it out and post your findings please. The jesuits were created to murder, at the slightest order from any pope.
@TIJoe-te9qu Жыл бұрын
@@noahgaming8833 They sometimes do, but shouldn't. Preachers are there to present truth and administrate and organize, not be followed as infallible. However, NO true Protestant group EVER places a mortal, sinful man on a throne between cherubim, as Monarch over his own small nation, and declares him to be God-on-earth or Vicarious Christ. The papacy does exactly that. Many statements by the papacy declare the pope to be God, yet papists will still deny he is elevated to that throne. NO Protestant, or even evangelical church, has kings of the earth from nearly 200 nations, come to fall at the feet of its leader, and address him as "his holiness." I have watched even US presidents do that, and wanted to vomit. Four US presidents attended the funeral of JP2. The top political powers bow to this defacto king, installed by the largest counterfeit church/state ever inspired by the adversary. Jesus said His kingdom was NOT of this world. The pope's kingdom IS of this world, and he fornicates continuously and deliciously with the corrupt kings and merchants of the earth. At least until Revelation 18 kicks in...

The problem these anti Catholic schismatics always have is that they end up reading their own theology into the texts of Scripture and then claiming that they hold the “biblical position.” The text is not allowed to speak for itself. If the text does not say what the Protestant schismatic wants it to say, then the schismatic will MAKE it say what he wants, reinterpret it in an abusive way, or disregard it altogether. Spare us your praise for Mr. Horn. He is 100% LOST by believing in "another jesus and another gospel" per 2 Cor 11:4. And so are you. As I said elsewhere...

What a great video. It’s so true, I was Calvinist because I couldn’t reconcile man cooperating with God and still believe in Faith Alone. I am on my way to the Catholic Church. Thank you Trent for being a huge part of my conversion.

After being subjected to the vapid nonsense that was late 60s and early 70s CCD, I had to learn my faith in my teen years on my own, as I was under constant attack by Christian fundamentalists. When I hear the same tired old arguments against the Church more than 40 years later, I can only take so much before my mind gets tired and my charity wanes. Good on you, Trent, for so ably dealing with this twaddle.

I'm a catholic from Brazil, and here we don't have such an abrasive enviroment between all the many denominations of christians sects as it seems to be in the US. It was only this year that I have heard the assumption that " Catholics are not christians", and I think this is not just absurd but absolutely appallingly offensive!

If satan loved Catholicism, Catholicism would certainly not include confession of sins to a priest. To confess one's sins as the Church requires self-denial, honesty that is pitless to one's egotism, moral courage, humility, hope in God's mercy, truthfulness, and other virtues that are pleasing to God but utterly opposed to what is known of the devil. Contrition for one's sins requires enmity to all of one's sins, and a firm purpose to reject and turn from them: how does that promote the interests of the devil, and not rather oppose them ?

It is the Catholic Church that gave us the Bible, and it is only Catholics who follow the Bible. EARLY BIBLR HISTORY Pope Damasus assembled the first list of books of the Bible at the Roman Council in 382 A.D. He commissioned St. Jerome to translate the original Greek and Hebrew texts into Latin, which became known as the Latin Vulgate Bible and was declared by the Church to be the only authentic and official version, in 1546. The Douay Rheims Bible is the ONLY English translation, translated directly from St. Jerome's Latin Vulgate translation. All of the 40,000 + man made Protestant Sects made up their own false Bibles, and they are lost souls.

Spare us your praise for Mr. Horn. He is 100% LOST by believing in "another jesus and another gospel" per 2 Cor 11:4. And so are you. As I said elsewhere...

Are you proud of worshipping the Antichrist (in the place of Christ) instead of Jesus Christ? Blasphemous titles claimed for the pope have been embellished and enlarged over the centuries. "And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, *_Come out of her,_** my people,* that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities." Rev. 18:4, 5.

Again you are demonstrating deliberately misquoting Scriptures to mislead.* Jhn 19:25 Now there stood by the cross of Jesus His mother, and His mother's sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene. you said Jesus brothers ( Armenian>aha> refers to more than brother) are of different Mary (John 19:25) if not Joseph.

The setting of the Biblical canon is such a game changer. The Church clearly was infused with traditions of what was and wasn't scripture, lists etc. long before the canon was set. Does Dr White consider the setting of the canon of scriptures formally an "adding to"?
@fooberdooge31032 жыл бұрын
@YAJUN YUAN But who laid down the original canon and where? Do you have proof that Christ, the Apostles, or God Himself came down and laid out which books were in the canon? And what's your idea of "the church"? I this Church a society that has a hierarchy and an authoritative teaching body instituted by Christ, or a mere gathering of believers who ultimately cannot authoritatively teach anything?

@YAJUN YUAN Paul was writing to already existing churches. By definition they couldn't have had scripture since they were Christians that predated the NT.

@YAJUN YUAN when Pentacost happened and the Church was born, what scripture was present. Do yourself a favour and create a timeline. It'll help you visualize the fact that all the books of the NT were written during a time when a Christian Church already existed. The canon came AFTER the church not before.

@YAJUN YUAN I’m saying, that the whole Bible was not even laid down by 70 A.D. A good number of epistles and even the Gospel of John was written after that. It’s quite clear if you study history that the East didn’t accept the book of the Apocalypse until the sixth century, so you can’t really say “oh this is the establish Canon set down by the apostles in 70 AD.” You should read Gary Machuta’s book W”hy Catholic Bibles are Bigger”
